Ferd--you have NO clue what Charismatic is, evidently! Everyone would say that about us too, and I hate that generalization. Charismatics as a whole do not believe in Jesus' name baptism. Most of them would have shofars blowing, flags waving, dancing in the aisles every service, etc. They usually have a very loose structure of worship and church government. Most of them do however have strict moral codes, but they are kind of a whole breed to themselves.
One more time let me say that just because you leave UPC, you do not "go Charismatic". We are independent, but we are not Charismatics. Richard Heard would not be considered Charismatic either, from what I've seen. He's just an independent Spirit filled church.
Thank you, Sherri....I couldn't have said it better myself. I cringe at those generalizations, to which I take exception.

richard heard preached at our church YEEEEEEARS ago. i will see if we have tapes.
I was a teenager in the early '80's when he came to Lake Charles and held a 2 month revival. Every night during the altar call, he would say, "Good-Bye, Sinner Friend..."
I think there will be a special private room for the UPCI. They'd think they were in hell if they noticed all of us sinners around them.
Alright, now! Let's try not to make this another "bash the UPCI" discussion, OK? Currently, it's the "bash the Charismatic" discussion...please stay on topic.

funny. I thought i was quite spicific. I just re-read and didnt find a single generalization.
I see you can respond to sherry's comment but not to my answer to the question you asked me.
Sorry, Ferd. MOW and I are probably just tired of everyone saying "gone Charismatic" about anyone who doesn't hold to old time UPC standards, or is possibly PCI. I get a little touchy about it sometimes.
