We lived in Milington,TN for a few months in 1996. I believe it's about 17 miles from Memphis. We could literally feel the evil spirit as we got near Memphis and feel leaving it as we got further away.
I miss my family and my friends down in the lower 48 but I definitely don't miss the crime. I feel very safe here on this Rock in the bush in SE Alaska.
CC1 I'm so thankful your SIL is OK and I pray this will cause him to be more cautious when he travels in the future.

Sounds to me like you need to just pack up and move, red toe nails and all. If you were my mom I would not like you living alone in a city like the one you folks have described. I'd probly come pack you up myself, whether you liked or not (in a loving way, of course). Either way, you'd be getting out of that town! Maybe we need to pray you down a nice suitor from a better area of TN.

My son and DIL live here and he works where I do too.
I live in a nice part of Memphis and NEVER go downtown. Where I work is located near the airport and okay. Our whole campus is gated with a guard gate, so we are safe. It's just a oppressed city!
The city government is terrible and they keep the race issue in arms all the time.
P.S. I do appreciate the prayers. Maybe it's time for a life change for me - who knows.
