I can remember buying gas for 69 cents a gallon back in the eighties.
You are just a child dear boy. i was raised in a gas station my father owned.
.25 to .30 cents was common price for regular. Ehtyl was a bit more, yes I said Ehthyl, that was what hi octane was called back then.

Gas Wars often drove the price down tot he teens for a gallon of gas.

As late as 1970 when I drove home from Pensacola after getting out of the Navy I was buying gas for as little as 27 cents a gallon.

Re: What is the Cheapest Fuel You've Ever Bought?

gas was .98 gallon when I got my license, dropped up and down some, never got over 1.00 it seemed. I remember paying $1.06 for gas, and I was ticked (and not in church either) And $1.13.

I have vague memories as a kid of a gas station on Broadway, in Haltom City of .75/gallon.

Just don't ask what they are paying in Arab countries right now.............
.35-.50/gallon !
