Re: Witchcraft = medication

Well, I took a painkiller today...my back was killing me...
Then I went out and made visits, helped one group look for a building to rent, gave a Bible study and in a little while will go to ladies meeting...
So...I don´t think God cares that I took something for my back...

I would greatly appreciate a clarification. Are Research & Development pharmacists and compounding pharmacists poisoners, magicians, and sorcerers?

It is disappointing that the thread starter is ignoring my request for clarification. Though personally offended by the quoted portion from Post #6, I am reminded that we are to be slow to anger and slow to speak.

I have spent my career in pharmacy since 1991. Two pharmacies, tens of thousands of prescriptions dispensed to people, only to find out that I have been engaging in "(by extension)" magic and sorcery. Allow me to express my personal thanks to the author of this lovely thread.

The LORD's requirement for producing the Anointing oil for the priests and the incense for the Altar of Incense were satisfied by the skills in our profession. We're called Apothecaries.

Our profession has the distinction of being the most trusted profession among consumers. When your doctor can't be bothered, who do people ask for advice? The pharmacist, the shaman of the modern world.

Do your muscles hurt? Do you have a headache?
Need a sunblock? Do you have minor sunburn because you didn't use any?
Perhaps a little acid indigestion from eating the wrong food on Father's Day?
Constipation? Diarrhea?
Do you have a cut and want to make sure it doesn't get infected?
A little cough perhaps?
Maybe you've picked up that nasty flu bug and you just want a little help with the symptoms?
Do you have dry eyes? Do you have dry skin?

My profession has developed remedies for all of the above and they're available without needing authorization from a physician. If you have any (or all...) of the above problems and you don't mind the remedy being developed by a shaman, no worries.
I'll be glad to direct ya to something that'll fix what ails ya.

If you're interested in avoiding using those things and you'd prefer a natural or homeopathic remedy, you're in business, since they're produced by us shamans as well. Our profession wrote the book.

May The LORD, the revealer of answers to mysteries, bless us all and grant us both revelation and perspective.

Why? There was no cursing and blessing coming from the same....

Why are you judging me or my intent?

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone my sister, when you can say that people have never put you to anger then come tell me what I have done wrong, until then sit back and get a bag of popcorn or stick to the Bible.

Nuebill, are you denying that there is a connection between modern day pharmacology and ancient practices of concocting potions and whatnot to heal people? Let's leave all the hocus pocus stuff out of it, for the sake of peace.

"Be angry and sin not."

I don't think that calling names and insulting others reflects Christian character. And telling me to "sit down and shut up" doesn't work very well.

Consider your posts reported.

Let me put my two cents in (and don't read this if you don't want to Rico cause I am pointing this out to others, not you).

This is eliminating the point of the entire scripture, when you look at the etymology of the word it refers to two completely different meanings. The "hocus pocus" and tree dancing is what the Bible is referring to, not archaic pharmacology.

Modern pharmacology uses science when "back in the day" they believed it was supernatural.

The intent defines the cause and the purpose and when you play silly games like trying to limit ones approach because it proves you wrong you are bullying with the boys who know what's going on because they don't want to look like sinners.

1. I reported your post to Rico, not the one to me.
2. You said it in other words. I was summing your statement up for you.

Look, state your points without name-calling and insulting others. It really just discredits you all around, and eventually you'll either end up banned or no one will talk to you anyway.
