No, it's not okay for a Christian, because it is a secret society type thing. They take oaths and swear to keep silence about the group and that is against the Bible.

How so? How is it different from say as an example the affirmation statement? Is affriming a stance on certain thing but writting it on a card different than verbalizing it? No they are the same because you are affirming a certain stance. Affirmation and taking an oath are no different. Now if the verbal oath and written oath are contray to the Bible then they are both just as wrong. I have done research on secret societies not tons of info out there, but some of them make you do certain thing that are contray to scripture. But the truth is that the affirmation statement is one example non scriptural oath.
