This is old info so it may have changed.
They are onenss/Jesus name/ but do not impose or enforce standards.

I am familiar with that church. I am almost positive that they lost the oneness/Jesus Name some time ago. I actually kinda forgot about them...have to check it out and be sure. When I heard of that church, it was back when I thought standards were necessary, so all I heard was the gossip that they had gone "charismatic" along with everyone shaking their heads at them....

what if it is the reverse Bro. Randy?!?!
what if you are the way you are because the rest of the world is that way, what if you have been drawn into the "ways of the world"???
this is why I don't question the beliefs of others, it can turn on you and just as you can't really prove that people change because others in the church are that way , I can't prove you are a worldly sinner on his way to hell because others who dress the way you do are of the world.

So true, Scotty. Our son decided he was not going to preach on standards at all in his church in California. They are experiencing growth at a wonderful pace.
He said the strangest thing is the women are putting on dresses and not wearing make-up. He is astonished!
One funny thing - He loves to preach in black churches. The brothers are always giving him suits. He called one day and was talking about another suit he was given. My husband said, "Ask him what color this one is?"

He's our black son. Man, can that boy play the sax!!!!!

Here are some liberal three step churches out there.
This is not a personal endorsement.

You might want to verify your information with the pastor or someone that actually attends the church. You might be right, but I've heard of numerous lies being told about "charismatic" churches.

Its personal choice, if there are those that don't want standards then go to a church with no standards. but don't come to our UPC and tell us we need to change.
I don't try to change others.

Ok, kinda confused.....
I agree that it should be looked at as personal conviction. I wish everyone looked at it that way. I believe that if a woman feels like she needs to make that dedication to God, there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think if some people didn't have those fences up, they would be lost in the world. I would never tell someone to change or that they were wrong for making those consecrations, and I would expect the same respect.
HOWEVER, if your church does look at it like personal conviction, then someone with pants and cut hair should be allowed to sing a special. If not, then that's basically telling them they aren't pleasing God with their life...
Guess I just don't know exactly where you stand?

On the pants issue - my best friend thinks this is hilarious. She wears pants, but not to church. I can't wear them because I feel sexual in them. She laughs her head off over that. I'm sure it was from my bartending days, but really, I will always feel that way about pants personally. I don't look down on others, but that is why I don't and can't wear them, plus they are uncomfortable.

It's not that they "lost it". In churches like their's it's just that you just don't hear it being proclaimed weekly that "we are onenss and the rest aint" or that you constantly hear "you gotta be baptized in Jesus name or you'll surely burn.
We at my church are still upc but i can't remeber a Jesus name batism message or a godhead message being preached in a long long time.
We preach Jesus and him crucified.
We do not impose or enforce man made standards or the traditons and customs of men either.

I preach oneness and Jesus Name baptism and Holiness but not to beat people over the head.I could never be Trinity but I don't bash my Trinitarian friends.
