Sure don't get this kind of grief over there, and no not everyone is a liberal over there.

I understand Amazing Grace's concern since DA is almost single handedly responsible for part of the exodus from AFF.
I hope DA and others will learn that they don't do their positions any favors by being offensive in the presentation of their views.
One can contend for a position with class and respect for others.
It is the downward spiral of the quality of posting that has contributed to me not spending as much time at AFF as I had in the past (along with work and some other pressing reasons).
I am posting this as myself not an admin. This is just my personal view.

I do agree with this, I wish that there could be respect for opposing viewpoints, the mocking that has happened at times seem a little mean-spirited.
And I will include myself, I haven't always been as kind as I could have been. That being said, I don't think anyone is looking for a Maranatha, Cumbuya, holding hands around the campfire environment. Discussion is healthy.
It is fine line, but I think as responsible adults we are capable of it!

I have crossed the proverbial line a few times myself but have tried not to as a rule. Some seem to relish poking others in the eye and I see no positive results from that other than perhaps some perverse pleasure in the mind of the provoker.

CC1,
I respect the admin team on this forum, and the changes will be for the good of this forum. However, I feel I should point out something.
There was name calling and offense on both sides of this issue. Hopefully we have all grown up to see the error of such actions.
Also, to blame one member among thousands for the exodus, then why did the exodus continue after that member was banned? This reasoning is not in alignment with cognitive reasoning. They left, because they wanted to, not because someone forced them to.
But, you are right, and I will strive to continue in the right spirit I have attempted to post in the past on this forum.
