Search for Truth, I or II??
I'm looking at the PPH site and want to order some Home Bible Study materials. I already have some for SFT I, but I need some student study sheets...
Does anyone know if the Search for Truth II is much different from I? I haven't seen the II...I'd order it if it's a great change, but if it's much the same...I guess I'll stick with I since I only need the study sheets for that.
Thanks for any input. If anyone can recommend another great home Bible study, I'm interested! We have some "never been to church at all" people coming and I'd like to give them a good Bible study.
Thanks!

Re: Search for Truth, I or II??
Unfornately, they both teach dispensationalism which is not an Apostolic or even a Biblical concept.
If it were not for that, with it's ultimate conclusion, both do walk new converts through the Bible.

Re: Search for Truth, I or II??
sft 1 is simpler, sft 2 is in a fancier package, but not to much diff, i dont like the dispensationalism either, i prefer exploring gods word, for long bible studies, simple and easy to understand , read thru them and see which one is good for you, god bless your efforts, dt

Search For Truth II is the better of the 2.

Re: Search for Truth, I or II??
Other than it is not found or taught anywhere in the Bible forces me to not teach it. It is a derived conclusion, but not a Biblical teaching.

I have a SFT 2 mini Chart. It's great IMO. It is a lot more attractive to the eyes mostly

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Search for Truth, I or II??
Thanks Prax! I'm going to call FPC in Jackson or some other larger Pentecostal churches and see if they have any for sale in their bookstore...if not, I'll order from PPH.

Re: Search for Truth, I or II??
I have all three and I prefer II over I and, for reasons already mentioned, Exploring God's Word is my favorite. Another reason I like Exploring God's Word is that it has a similar look and feel to In My Father's House discipleship charts. This makes the transition comfortable for the new convert as we begin the process of discipling him/her.
