I've been on hiatus for a few years. I asked for and was granted (pretty much) a total break from leadership responsibility and from much church involvement. I needed the break.

I was blessed to be able to speak to some ladies one time... I talked about how in Proverbs, strenght and honor are a woman's clothing. We clothe ourselves with strength and honor, but sometimes, we don't feel soo strong. You all know, remember that song, "The warrior is a child" The part where, "They don't know that I go running home when I fall down, cause deep inside this armour, the warrior is a child" I have felt like that many a time. When you go through trials, and you keep walking and people say, "wow, why is soo strong" or "that is a strong woman" and you keep your head up and carry on....Sometimes, I just feel to weak. But we find out our strength comes from God, and are strong in the power of His might. There are times when I don't want to be strong, but I have to be. Oh but when I am weak, He is strong!
...so what are yall teaching/ preaching/ ????

I have taught a music ministry lesson about four or five times...same basic lesson with enough changes to keep me awake.
Three or four times I've taught on spiritual depression...
I once taught on the role of the Church Mother...taught it at a pre Mother's Day service...
There have been a few others, but the above lessons are ones which come quickly to mind.

We've all been there, I think! For some of us, you can become so wrapped up in working and doing for God that your focus becomes on the things of God and off of Him specifically... I remember when I had to "back off" from things for a little bit....

What exactly do you mean by spiritual depression? I know what I think the meaning of it is, but what do you mean?

I just recently spoke in Singapore.
I spoke to the ladies about having the B.E.S.T. marriage. Taking the word a letter at a time.
B= bless
E= exhort
S= spending time
T= touch
Then I spoke to the singles -"Singles with a purpose- exposing the orphan spirit."
I've done lessons with my husband on the topic of the mind being the battlefield.

Just noticed this post.
Our situation was "extreme". It wasn't simply a matter of being too wrapped up in work and not enough in God. All I've known since I was a young person is living for God, being totally sold out and giving sacrificially. I wanted nothing different than that. There were pressures that were way heavy to bear that went well and way beyond the normal pressure of ministry. I'm not minimizing those pressures either. Just saying that I would never have bowed out based on what I consider to be normal pressure of ministry.
I knew for some time that I was totally burnt out and in trouble, but felt I had no choice but to keep going. Keep going is exactly what I did and carried out my responsibilities admirably and well. All who know me and our situation would say nothing different. However, the price had to be paid eventually. And it was.

What did you learn from these experiences?
Recently I felt that some of my years in Christ had not been lived to their fullest in His service, wasted unredeemed time. I started to get upset with myself but Moses came to mind and his time spent in the desert. We can learn things even while in the desert and come to appreciate more the times of spiritual fruitfulness and plenty.

LOL! I have never been asked, and don't expect ever to be. In my church, there is an "inner circle" of families, and if you are not in one of them, or related to one of them, or best-life-long friends with a member of one of them, you are not asked or allowed to do ANYTHING.
Very few have been able to break through the invisible barrier, and then only to do the things that no one else wants to do.

Re: Ladies: What are some topics you've taught on?
Looking for ladies topics have you ever heard of the book "the five languages of love" This is good for Men Ministry and Ladies and even teaching couples together. Its an Awesome book. You can get it a Wal-Mart and Christian Book stores. I have bought lots of copies for young couples and older couples alike.
