"Technically" is the operative word here. They KNOW this is SUPER controversial and goes against UPCI guidelines.
Why not just form your new org and move on. Why encourage preachers to straddle the fence? They're gonna get pretty sore after a while.

In Wisconsin I know many churches in the state thought out church was too liberal.
They also knew we had the largest church.
SO yes they did shun our church and it was widely known that the pastors did not want their people attending special meetings etc.
It does happen...

Well I find myself in agreement personally however these guys have lived their entire lives in the UPC so if it does not violate the guidelines I think technically they are clear. I predict in time they will issue licenses then it will be different then. But if the UPC tries anything officially that would be illegal according to the manual then that would not be very smart. However that is exactly what they did 40 years ago I would hope they are smarter now.
