Agreed. They're sticking around because I believe they want the UPC to kick them out. That will give them a reason to UPC bash.

They want to be kicked out so they can tell everyone that they had the right spirit all along and the UPC is who caused the division....

It sounds to me that they are playing the victim here. "We are trying to do this together...we don't want to leave the UPC....We want to work with you all...." Blah, Blah, BLah!

Cop-out! What they are really saying is...we'll play with you...but only on OUR terms! My hope is that the UPC does in fact inforce this "You can't hold credentials with another organization or group!"

We need to cut our losses and go on with the work of the Kingdom!

The links don't work . I think they are of "Dora the Explorer?"

She was one of several UPC young people who were interviewed for doing "unusual things." This may even be one those those things that the Youth Committee chooses to "not do again." I don't know that she was held up as an "example."

My daughter was there and had a great time. My daughter is just 15 but she's savvy enough to realize that the "Jesus Name" movement covers a pretty broad spectrum of belief and practice. My daughter also selects her own wardrobe entirely by herself and always ends up looking like a fairly "conservative" Pentecostal young lady. More "conservative" than even I do! That's just her choice.

Thanks for the input.

1000-1200 is a conservative guess

another stat said 1500 - 1600...

I would be comfortable saying that there was 1000 there last night...
Thanks!

I implore you all, don't speculate or call names of those who you may have heard are leaving. It has always been my policy to be sure before I speak. It seems that there are alot of folks just plain gossiping!
You are being unkind to men, I would guess you haven't personally spoken with all 56?

And IF you think these men are wrong, you say cut "your" (you can't speak for everyone) The organization manual says to "restore the brethren" which is taken from God's word Galatians 6:1 "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."

CAF= Conservative Apostolic Forum. A private forum of "Conservative Apostolics."

GIB= Good Independent Brethren. Preachers who are not members of any Oneness org. and uphold "conservative" standards.

I disagree, jrLA. I don't think the UPC should enforce anything of the sort. Nor do I think there should be any limits on who fellowships with whom. (Of course, there already is...with that stupid resolution that passed last year.)

When I was a kid, we fellowshipped with AMF, ALJC, PAW, Independents, and even some AOG. I think its healthy, and it allows you to learn to love people who don't necessarily see eye to eye with you on every issue.

Yes, Melody you may quote me.

First of all, that quote was from a whilw back if I remember correctly and since then many...not all, but many of these men have proven some things that are NOT just heresay.

You can only restore those who want to be restored!

And no, I can't possibly speak for the entire org., but I am sure I speak for some. That is MY opinion! Mine! I feel strongly about it! Thanks...

Pelathais sorry it didn't work, someone helped to edit it last night so it wasn't crazy, you can do a google search on Kathleen Herles, click on images.

Why have her there at all if she wasn't an example. Now the young man who had a successful campus ministry he was someone I would want the children to model after.
