My low level Type 2 diabetes creates problems for me... I am insulin resistant which, as I understand from my endocrinologist, means that almost all the carbs I take in are turned into sugar and then stored in cells as fat since the insulin is not properly metabolizing them into usable energy. Then, due an abundance of unused insulin, the liver excretes more sugar to offset the high insulin level which causes the pancreas to excrete more insulin and thus begins the infernal eternal cycle that leads to severe Type 2 diabetes due to the pancreas being unable to excrete ANY insulin. At that point I would move from "insulin resistant" to an "insulin dependent" diabetic.
My only hope is 1 or more hours a day of anaerobic exercise and 20 to 30 minutes a day of aerobic exercise for my heart. This allows me to DIET and MAINTAIN. Pre-diabetes, I was able to do this and drop 20+ pounds in a month. It is really frustrating!
