This is usually the way it goes after meeting on the internet. For instance, I lived only 2 hours from my husband when we 'met', and spent a lot of time together as well as on the phone for a year before getting married.

I don't think it's a good idea to meet on the internet and get married a week later, for instance. That's stupidity (although some have done it successfully, but it's rare).

My wife lived two hours South of me. We met two weeks after meeting -and were married barely 5 months later.

There were a couple that used to hang around that were engaged before they ever met in person.

Not in a hurry, were you? LOL!

Actually, this happens with people who even meet in church, so I don't think it's any different, really.

I've heard of people meeting for the first time in a mutual place and being married a week later, and stayed married and faithful. It can happen with or without the internet.

This is difficult to assume though, since the entire relationship was due to internet dating... kinda confusing.

The same with my brother and his ex-wife.

My sister met her husband online. They both lived in Knoxville and while they were still in the "internet stage" she told him that he better not shoot her a line of ........ because she could find out anything she wanted to know about him. She works for the K'ville police department.

They've been married nearly five years and they're doing great.

Well, I can't say I've had any better luck in meeting someone in "real life", but the whole internet dating thing scares the life out of me. Too many crazy people out there!!!

I know of some who have had sucess at it, and others who haven't. Pretty much just like "real life".
