Phil, it is deception.

I have seen the ravages of alcohol in my town for years now.

Children abandoned out on the streets because of alcoholic parents, our local insurance agent killed by a drunk driver, and teenagers killed because their parents provided them alcohol to party with.

What if I don't want someone drunk on the Holy Ghost out on the highway when I am driving?

Drunkeness and alcoholism are still sins .....

I anxiously await the day we address other lethal excesses like over-eating w/ the same ferocity and zeal.

Dan,

this is a valid point... kind of... and I think we should be as zealous about any excess that is sin as we are about alcohol! Let's just get busy!

I'm remembering the anger now. I really felt like this guy had beaten up my wife and kids. After he got off - he had to pay us $140.00 to replace my wife's watch that went through the windshield when her arm did. (She was seat belted in and an air bag deployed and one arm went through the windshild, so you can imagine the pounding she took).

The car was totalled we had to pay the deductible - I advise people now, sue your own insurance company if you have to. Hire a hungry ambulance chaser- my family suffered because I "played ball" with the system. They robbed me.

So, anyhoo... I'm driving over to this guy's house one night to "look him up..." As I see the house toward the end of the street I see someone out in the front yard of a house nearby waving me down. It's a couple from another church in town that I didn't even know lived in that neighborhood. They stop me and we briefly chat... "Uhm.. I was just driving by...uhm... that's it..."

They probably saved me from having to make my own court appearances. I laugh at myself now. I was going to hurt him back then.

I have a relative whose parents would sell their food stamps so they could go buy alcohol. They were complete alcoholics.

He has confessed the childhood shame he suffered because of it.

No shoes, ragged clothes, little to eat.

All because of alcohol.

Did I ever once say it was you who sent it? No actually I didnt think it was you to begin with! I have watched your posting style and I really have no reason to think it was you. Sorry you took it that way. And I am sorry that Dan took it that way too. I didnt stay online I was busy talking to admin and didnt notice that or I would have set it straight right then.

It was alcohol, even the scripture says that the Gov. of the feast commented that at most parties/celebrations the best wine is served first, because the time the bad stuff is brought out, people are to drunk to tell.

So I do believe that Jesus turned water into actual wine.

DA Carson, stated about this story,Jesus turned water into wine and men have been trying to turn it into water ever since
