our where abouts
Only those that travel the same road we travel can fully understand
the heart rending trials of missionary life. We are always threatened as
the gang lords attack in all areas of the cities and villages. We are
witnessing homemade bombs thrown into restaurants, stores and strikes
everywhere. In the last two months our banks, police, doctors and post
offices have been on strike off and on.
The bandits and police attack each other on the streets and in shanty
towns causing the death of innocent dwellers. We watch assaults in the
crowded buses where passengers are unable to escape bullets flying
from the police and thieves. Our state is the poorest state in Brazil and
thus poverty breeds bandits. There are so many poor and oppressed in
this country.
Last month the devil attacked "Chad and Michael. Michael's car was not found.
Yet in the mist of it all we are seeing a mighty revival and the devil does not like us.
He may weary us but we do know who wins in the end.
In 40 years on the field I never came home except for one funeral but
we felt led to come and God seems to be doing a great work in the life
of my sister. I am deeply thankful for those that have felt to help
us. Usually we are able to travel but this time we have had to cancel
most appointments due to my sister and her needs.
Now another emergency has come up and we are uncertain what to do but
we need your prayers. Our son hit a man while driving our church bus
and the man passed away. The devil is furious but God is greater than
all the troubles we may go through. We do not know all the
complications this will involve but we ask you to pray for our son as he is
devastated over this.
We are deeply grateful for our supporters that have been God sent to help us on our journey.
We have seen so many people receive the Holy Ghost and the new jungle
work is growing. You help us make a difference in the lives of many
souls and we are very thankful for your help.
God is on a mission in Brazil — and we aim to be a part of it.
Below are a list of needs, if anyone feels the desire to help
with any of them:
We need to get a new laptop & projector for the work in Paraguay.
This is very important in our education ministry, also for evangelism in
rural areas.
Pray for a new church in the jungle we hope to finish it before
the year is over if we get enough help.
Pray for the building of our campground in southern Brazil we need
to get a floor in it. Right now our floor is just a dirt floor!
We have several different pastors that are in need of a personal
love offering for enlarging their churches.
We have several churches up and ready for a roof.
The pastor that is a leper has his church almost rebuilt that was
destroyed by a storm he just needs a roof on it now. I think 600 dollars
would get them back in their building.
Pray for our economic support. Right now it is very low, and we have
many debts to pay. This is an urgent request; don't forget to pray for
us. This year was very productive but so tiring. Thanks again!
We love You and thank You for your interest and support of this
work.
Love and Prayers,

Brother Alvear will have to return to Brazil due to the bus accident. I will stay in the states to help my sister and keep up the appointments that I can. Please pray for our strength.
