I think all of the Kansas and Oklahoma UPC preachers should stay home this year.

If you guys go that far away from home your churches will probably "go charismatic" in your absence.

You might come home to open toed shoes on the women and short sleeve shirts on the men!!!

Better to stay close to home where you can keep everybody in line.

Leave GC to those mod and lib pastors looking for an excuse to spend a few days in a hotel room with a TV.

I would like to compare a first edition of the Howard Goss book with the current edition published by PPH to see if there has been any editing.

There is a first edition on Ebay in an auction that closes on the 15th.

This interests me.
PM me and I'll send you copy of the pdf file. The original is 3.25 MB in size and has not been run through an OCR program. In other words it's a photocopy of the newspaper and not an e-document. Still, they make fascinating reading. This one's from before there was any PCI vs PAJC dichotomy- even before there was any Oneness vs Trinitarian split either.

I'd be interested in an article from that time period on the PCI vs PAJC dichotomy.

The more I read from history, the same arguments keep coming up. Rehashed from generation to generation. The arguments those against Modalists used in the early church ie: Tertullian in Against Praxeas are the same ones used against Oneness today.

Quit with the "IF" business. There can be no "if".

My husband, "David". He does have a name.

A friend teases me a lot about the fact I often say "my husband" when talking to her rather than calling him by name. It's a throwback to being in the UPC and maintaining proper respect and distance. I rarely called him by his first name for many years following the pattern of other pastor's wives.

I do call him by his first name now more often but still catch myself using the less personal "my husband" fairly often. Old habits die hard.

Felicity,

Leave Coonskinner alone! Tell him to save his money for an Alaska cruise then he can see you when he sails out of Vancouver or Seattle.

Not only should all of the Kansas and OK preachers stay home they ought to organize some sort of alternative conference similar to the AMC in Nashville that would draw cons and ultra cons from every state!
