Two questions jumped into my thoughts:
1. WHAT DOES BEING ENUMERATED mean pertaining to person's eligibility to vote in a fed election? Does each voter have a citizen NUMBER for voting or is this like our SS#?
2. Is Canada still a colony of Great Britian? Does the governance of Canada still denominate from England? I had NO idea that the "God-saved Queen" had ANY relation to the country we know as Canada.

1. To be enumerated is simply to be added to the roll of qualified voters. In the past, enumeraters have gone door-to-door to enumerate voters, and still do, but the bulk of the enumerating is done by a voluntary addition to the list through checking off a wish to be added on the annual income tax filing.
2. Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy.
Quote:
Constitutional monarchy: A monarchy whose ruler is only entitled to the powers given to him or her by a nation through their constitution and laws. Often, the monarch fulfills more traditional and ceremonial duties.

wow. I had NO IDEA. I am sorry if I am just proving the point of how blissfully ignorant us southerner's are concerning "O Canada's" civic systems.
Your reply is appreciated. Please excuse my second time asking but....
As a "Constitutional monarchy" are you folks somehow still a territory that is subject to any of the goverance originating across the pond (from GB)?
thanks,
or if you are from Quebec...
merci
