I totally agree. Hence the reason why the early American Pentecostals didn't like denominations. They actually wanted to stay in the brush arbors. Yet, the building program was calling them.

Every religion should be known by it's best. Those who are devout, lovers of Jesus Christ. Who want to really do the right thing and abandon man's favor to follow the Spirit of Truth. When you paint a house the portion which has the new paint stands out, and shows just how bad the unpainted parts really are. Our bias is that we see the bad stand out from the clean. There are so many beautiful people who are on the journey. We must never throw the baby out with the bath water.

I had a convo recently with a former superintendent, and He said the organization really has no power to pull a ministers license. Our conversation had more to do with holiness standards than eschatology.

Yes, and no. There are some types of eschatology they would reject as being not inline with their core faith.
No, you can be pre, mid, post trib and be licensed in the UPCI. There is also room for historicism as far as I know. There is nothing in the Articles of Faith that says you must believe in 7 years trib and stuff like that. As long as you believe in the literal return of Christ, the resurrection, the worsening of tribulation upon the earth, the millennium, and the final judgment, you can be licensed. Other organizations are more lax in this and would license someone as long as they believe in the literal return of Christ and the resurrection, ... not needing that you believe in a literal millennium, or future worsening of tribulation.

I find that most don’t know why they believe what they do. Someone preached it and someone else said “Amen!” and that’s all there is to it.
