If there is no relationship with Jesus, talk with them, in the midst of the conversation they'll tell you with what they "deal" with.

Rich people are the most tormented.

The traditional concept of an immaterial and immortal soul distinct from the body was not found in Judaism before the Babylonian exile,[1] but developed as a result of interaction with Persian and Hellenistic philosophies.[2] Accordingly, the Hebrew word נֶ֫פֶשׁ‎, nephesh, although translated as "soul" in some older English Bibles, actually has a meaning closer to "living being". Nephesh was rendered in the Septuagint as ψυχή (psūchê), the Greek word for soul. The New Testament also uses the word ψυχή, but with the Hebrew meaning and not the Greek.[3]

The textual evidence indicates a multiplicity of perspectives on these issues including probable changes during the centuries in which the biblical corpus developed.[4]
Did you know that also some "Bible scholars" say that the reason angels didn't have names, and then began to have names, e.g., Gabriel, Michael, etc... starting with Daniel was because of the influence of external religions combined with the increase of afterlife awareness starting from the Babylonian exile? Many Bible scholars are just scholars like an atheist specializes in Koran. They don't believe the Scriptures and therefore try to find connections with other religions to undermine the uniqueness and inspiration authority of the Scriptures.

Amanah, those are just interpretations. In the field of religion there is a lot of bias, and going to the primary sources and doing your own analysis is the best if feasible.

Traditional Christianity
In Patristic thought, towards the end of the 2nd century, psūchê had begun to be understood in a more Greek than a Hebrew way, contrasted with the body. By the 3rd century, with the influence of Origen, the traditions of the inherent immortality of the soul and its divine nature were established.[32] As the new Encyclopædia Britannica points out: “The early Christian philosophers adopted the Greek concept of the soul’s immortality and thought of the soul as being created by God and infused into the body at conception.”[33] Inherent immortality of the soul was accepted among western and eastern theologians throughout the Middle Ages, and after the Reformation, as evidenced by the Westminster Confession.[34]
I am not surprised. Origen was the champion of allegorical interpretation. He believed Jesus' body stopped being material when went to heaven, and denied the permanent physical nature of the resurrection for the rest of us. He basically says that the end of the story will be an immaterial nature, and that thereafter there will no longer be any matter, but only spirit. Which, actually, sounds like the Greeks. He was also an universalist. Allegorical interpretation, spiritual resurrection, universalism, sounds familiar? That's the true Hellenization influence.

BTW, I, and the UPCI as a whole, believes that the soul is not infused by God at conception but that the conception process itself creates a living being including the soul as ordained by God.

Coksiw:

I appreciate your comments and respect the ministry of the UPCI. But, it's my responsibility to search the scripture and stand for bible truth as I learn it regardless of what others think.

Since the reformation, Christianity has been clawing its way back from pagan influences and false doctrines and I'm not sure we line up with Apostolic doctrine in totality even yet.

Although, in my opinion we are closer than most. This is apparent to me by the sweet and beautiful way God meets with us who believe in the oneness of the Godhead and baptism in His precious name.

You are in a rhetorical bubble. Why do you think they think don’t need God? Their wealth gives them a lifetime of fun. The only thing I have over them is a higher joy.

The living being created at conception is a living soul. That's the definition of the soul, a living/breathing being. It's the same thing. It does not include, contain or have a soul. Your almost there! Saying we have a soul leads to the concept of the soul then at death existing disembodied. This is standard belief in the UPC as well as most of christianity. It then puts the saved in heaven before the resurrection and the lost in hell before the judgement day.

Absolutely! Especially him! And the rest in politics/famous they give up so much if not the most to get to that place.

You don’t think Trump has joy unspeakable and full of glory, do you?
