Tony Spell has church in spite of the ban

REV. TONY SPELL PLACED UNDER HOUSE ARREST FOR REFUSING JUDGE’S ORDER not to preach in his church. Rev. Spell, pastor of Life Tabernacle Church in Central, Louisiana, is shown here at 9:20 this morning with family and friends waiting to be fitted with an ankle monitor, which will force him to be confined within the exterior walls of his house. The order was signed by state District Judge Fred Crifasi. Judge Crifasi ordered Rev. Spell not to preach in his church and required a response by late Friday afternoon. The pastor responded with a scripture. 1 Peter 3:14 “But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.” Judge Crifasi interpreted that response as “active” contempt of court and issued an order. The judge said, “After some discussion, the court has decided it has no other choice but to add as a condition of Pastor Spell’s bail that he be subjected to home incarceration monitored by a GPS ankle bracelet, at his own expense. He is required to remain in his house, and the immediate curtilage (front porch or back porch) and is allowed to leave only for purposes of necessary medical attention, until further order of this Court.” He added that the pastor can preach from home. Well I disagree a lot on how Spell has responded but I don’t think holding to his conviction was wrong at all. Probably the only thing I agree with Spell on is him having church... all the other stuff like interviews, showing up to prison in a suit ect I disagree with.... however the orders are to keep him from having church and that is the bottom line. There is no proof at all, not one bit that the order they have imposed is even helping the situation and if they can make up
the rules to shut up churches for gathering it will be that easy the next time. So I do appreciate Spell fighting for all of our right to have church.

As much as I’ve disagreed with Rev Spell, this Judge crossed the line. There’s no reason to do this.

Not only should Spell file an emergency injunction, depending on where his home is and how much yard they have, he should make plans to bus his congregation to his yard to have service there.

He's planning on preaching at his church tomorrow morning. The judge has advised him if he does, he will go to jail until September. Please pray for Rev Spell.

Yup we know full well it has nothing to do with the charges they are accusing him of but it’s about him having church. They are releasing true criminals because of this virus yet they are going to take in a man for having church.
