Thinking about resurrection

Always love this topic of newness of Life with Christ.

The rod of Aaron was as dead stick placed in the holiest before the ark to confirm the priestly tribe God had chosen. It supernaturally displayed three stages of growth of an almond rod all at once -- impossible for nature. BUds, flowers and almonds. It was resurrection life!

The candlestick had six branches of the exact same design... almonds, buds and flowers. (9 elements of each item were on each branch. And the shaft of the tree-shaped candlestick had 12 elements. Altogether 66 elements were on the tree comprised of buds, flowers and almonds. Resurrection life. No wonder the Bible has 66 books!

6 is the number of man. 6 branches with the vine, Jesus makes 7 lamps! He is the vine we are the branches.

Man is mortal and inept without Christ. But this "66" is part of the perfect sevenfold light of the candlestick, the word of God. WE SHINE AS LIGHTS with Christ.

He walks amidst the seven candlesticks, showing how that our walk in the light as HE (Jesus) IS IN THE LIGHT, gives us fellowship with God.

And this light fo the word lights our path. IOW, it shows us how to walk in resurrection faith!

Before Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the foal of an ass, he visited Lazarus. 6 Days before Passover. Lazarus was already resurrected by Jesus earlier, and people came to see Lazarus as well as Jesus! They became believers in seeing a resurrected man before Jesus HImself even died and resurrected a week later!

The time between this visit to see Lazarus and Jesus' own resurrection that occurred later, stands for the manner in which people see US LIVE RISEN LIVES by having such a changed lifestyle that they LATER, because of us, come to see the resurrection of Christ so that they, too, can be risen with Him!

We are already resurrected spiritually. Rom 6:13 says we present ourselves to God AS THOSE ALOIVE FROM THE DEAD -- not those GOING TO BE raised from the dead -- and our bodily members of his instruments.

Salvation has afforded us the ability to walk in newness of life -- a supernaturally changed lifestyle.

My grandfather was the drhjuk of his community. Buty he obeyed Acts 2:38 and experienced new birth and miraculously never touched a drop of alcohol again. Souls came to believe in Jesus by seeing this resurrected man! Five of his sons became preachers. I am a grandson, and there is a great grandson as well

The WORD teaches us to walk in resurrection life with its perfect life-giving light!

Re: Thinking about resurrection

Mr. Blume, As I am in no way as well spoken as some of you, I RARELY post here, but I check-in daily...I facilitate a Sunday morning Bible Study group/adult men & women/55 & older. Would you mind me sharing this with my Sunday Bible Study group? Credit to you, of course! We are resorted to parking lot worship (drive-in style), no groups meeting for Bible study before worship. I have been looking for something to share this week, possibly via internet for those who have e-mail and/or FB, etc. This touched my spirit immediately. Perhaps my 55 years & older group might be encouraged by this also?? My sincerest thanks to you (and others who regularly share your thoughts ).

Re: Thinking about resurrection

A wonderful unity occurred in the death of Christ. We are baptized into that death and Jesus' death counts as our own. Why? So we could also say we were buried with Him, resurrected with Him, quickened with him, ascended with Him to finally be seated together with Him on this throne in heavenly places. He came down from glory to unite with us in His death so He could raise us up together with Him to the throne. In that manner, He returned us to the dominion God gave Adam that Adam lost when he fell into sin. We're back in power in Christ now -- if we've been baptized into His death! It all starts with His death!

Re: Thinking about resurrection

Israel was chased by Pharaoh and the armies of Egypt at the start of the Exodus. The Red Sea looked like a wall before the Hebrews, but it became a "veil" they could pass and the enemy could not. The RED in RED Sea typifies the blood of Jesus. The bloodline. God allowed Israel through by having opened up the Red Sea, and when the Egyptians pursued, the water drowned them out. The enemy can't cross the bloodline, just as the destroyer could not pass the doorways surrounded by lamb's blood on Passover night, and no destruction would come to Rahab's home in Jericho where the RED cord was in her window.

David fought Goliath at Ephesdammim, which name literally means "boundary of blood drops". Goliath did not have a chance!

Death stood at the entrance of the Garden of Eden with a flaming sword by Cherubims. But when Jesus died and shed his blood as payment for OUR sins, his death saw the veil in the temple rip open, which represented entrance reopened into the Garden of Eden. The cherubims at the entrance by the sword in Genesis' Garden of Eden were depicted on the veil of the temple's most holy place. Jesus opened it up for us, but not for those who do not serve and obey Him.

It actually represents being cleansed by God's work to be able to actually go to heaven one day. But, also, we are in the place of protection and blessing in that state of obedience as well.

The bible teaches that obedience to the WORD of God found in the Bible affords blessings of grace and protection from God, HImself. But we have to be obedient to the Word.

Many call themselves believers and really have no appreciation nor value for the Bible and a desire to learn what it teaches, and have no desire to have someone teach it to them. It's literally a matter of life and death. Thank God for those who teach and those who want to be taught the Word of God!

Re: Thinking about resurrection

More about the cross...

I was glossing through the first few chapters of Proverbs, written by Solomon, and noticed he introduced the issue of wisdom and lifeskills by saying the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Then I thought about how we cannot live life in our human best without breaking down. Humanity is just not that powerful. We were created to have God in our lives. No wonder Solomon started it off with that point. Nothing else without HIm can cut it.

Jesus blew the minds of critics for millennia when he was crucified between two thieves and mocked and hated, and in the midst of it all said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Selflessness is the key. Every downfall will occur because of defending and protecting ourselves, when the Son of God put God number one and Himself below.

Stephen was the first Christian martyr and forgave his murderers just as Jesus did! But the only way Stephen could do that was explained here:

Act 7:55-60 KJV But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, (56) And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. (57) Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, (58) And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. (59) And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. (60) And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Full of the Holy Spirit! He looked to God in his trial being filled with His Spirit, and miraculous things came from his last breathing moments. If we're too full of ourselves, there is no room for God's Spirit to fill us! Like the alabaster box that was so precious and valuable, but broken by the woman who anointed Jesus with its contents, our humanity is so precious to us. Let it break and see the perfume flow out to honour God, and all around will see something come forth and know there is a God!

Fear is part of this earthen vessel of humanity. That needs to be broken.

The self-centredness of our humanity is where all our problems come from. Anger toward those who hurt us... let it go! Save yourself some regrettable moments! Grudges eat us up - let it go. You feel like throwing stones, -- drop them. Oh, how much we would save heartaches and bitterness if we did not think so much of ourselves, but instead we LET IT GO!
