15 “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

One thing about bearing fruit. A tree does not have to force itself to bear fruit. The fruit are a natural byproduct of what the tree is. An apple tree will bear apples. An orange tree will bear oranges. It is not about forcing fruit. I never see a tree breaking a sweat to produce fruit. Our identity as holy in Christ will bear, will produce fruit. It is never forced. The call for the believer to bear fruit is the call for us to live out our identity, our recreation in Christ.

Any holiness, any holy living that is of what we do and not of what Christ has done is fake and false.

Excellent! If we are locked into a love relationship with Jesus we will bear fruit. And moreover even the teaching of the fear of God helps us to bear fruit. Sometimes when love alone wont keep us the fear of God will keep us.
