They had an order of service. They had a church government like we do of elders. In the New Testament they didn’t reinvent the wheel.
Found this interesting:

Did Samson have a beard?

The Bible says in Numbers 6:5 only says "All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth himself unto the Lord, he shall be holy, and shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow." While this site says more:"Those who were under the Nazarite vow could not shave any hair on their head (e.g. beard, mustache, eyebrows - Numbers 6:5, Judges 13:5, 16:17). This meant that those who promised to serve God in such a way were easily recognizable to other people, as they had long hair, bushy eyebrows, a long unkempt beard, etc."

But I'll be honest, I don't think scripture is very clear on that. So I don't know for sure. I can't say definitely.

It is assumed a beard, doesn't say he had one.

Scripture is a lot less clear on this as it is 1 Corinthians 11 about hair, or as it is on Deuteronomy 22:5; but I'm sure many here would disagree. I'm happy to be in the minority. I've always been the black sheep, in everything I do.

Re: Are Beards The Mark Of The Beast?

Not surprising that the narrative has changed. In the 1960's, beards were frowned upon because they represented the "Hippy" generation. Now it's the "gay" identification. A few years from now who knows what reason will be touted? Too bad God didn't consult with some of these chameleons before he gave all of us men these pesky beards! Ignorance can be cured with education but there is no cure for stupidity!

The hippies were not the only ones who had beards in the 60's. Gays are certainly not the only ones with beards now. Most gays I ever knew about where clean shaved.

Its a totally false narrative. If it were true its all about "worldly identification" the Apostolic Preachers would take off their suits and start preaching against them. The wicked men of the world wear suits but the Preachers dont mind. They join right in!

Re: Are Beards The Mark Of The Beast?

Julian the Apostate had lice in his beard.

The Misopogon, or Beard-Hater, is a satirical essay on philosophers by the Roman Emperor Julian. It was written in Classical Greek. The satire was written in Antioch in February or March 363, not long before Julian departed for his fateful Persian campaign.

Glanville Downey says of the text:
"Julian vented his spleen in the famous satire, the Misopogon or Beard-Hater, in which, by pretending to satirize himself and the philosopher's beard which he wore in a clean-shaven age, he was able to pour forth his bitter anger against, and disappointment with, the people of Antioch."[1]
