Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

There are a TON of Green Bay fans in the Phoenix area which I am sure influences how the top NFL execs for the Cards make sure that they schedule the two teams to play at the same time and on the same network despite one being an East coast team and the other a West JUST to make sure we see as few games as possible.

Dropped DirecTV for Dish three weeks ago. I LOVE Dish with its new Hopper DVR, but its NFL offerings leave something to be desired.

Is this any different than churches that cancel service for the 4th of July - or even Christmas?

I figure it's the later, since as many ministers are "athletic supporters" as are the laity.
(Me, I haven't watched any kind of pro or college game of any kind for at least 20 years. I do not wish to spend any portion of my short life helping to enrich 21 yr. old millionaires who happen to possess a talent for throwing a leather ball, or jumping into someone else, or tackling someone, or whatever.)

I was doing a search on the hobbies and several threads came up. This one is not the hobby I have (I do not watch any sports other than stock car racing) however I bumped this thread because I want your opinion.
Can an Apostolic have a hobby?
What if your hobby is foot ball/watching TV sports?
Should EVER moment be devoted to finding lost souls?
I have NEVER met anyone actually looking for lost souls 27/7.

Re: Football Vs Faith
The hobby sadly seems to be make believe.
Immaturity from childhood were dress up to make believe you were someone else. Yet, here on the internet you can make believe you are anyone because it isn't a physical personal interaction. People faking they are Apostolics, faking they are conservatives, making it all up while hiding behind a computer screen.
This only proves that they are atheist in their view. That God cannot see them, and will not do anything to them. That they are free to play make believe with their internet friends. Football? Hobbies? The least of their problems.

We have had several here.
They typically try to hide it.
