Re: With one wave of the popes hand.
One of the things a forum of this nature does is to help all of us hone our communication and people skills. Without seeing the expression on one's face, it is easy to come to a conclusion other than the one which the poster originally intended.
Here's a piece of advice for all: When someone perceives that a personal attack has been waged, rather than coming unglued and reciprocating the accusation, try asking a question for clarification.
For example, "Are you saying that I would___________? Are you calling me a ____________? Are you implying that I ___________? Do you really believe that I _________? Are you saying that I believe _________________?" etc.
Most of the problems on this board and others stem from these types of clarifications NEVER being asked. Volleys back and forth are usually what happens and then someone goes to Admin wanting help to sort it all out. We're not going to sort it all out. This is a self moderated board. It is YOUR responsibility to do that. We've only said that a bazillion times. Disagree, fuss and discuss....all of these things are fine, but try your best to find out what someone really means before you come uncorked at them.

Either way, your conclusion that his positions on this board are indicative of a propensity to agree with the government at all costs, including supporting the systematic murder of a race of people is far-fetched and more than a bit unfair. If your idea was truly to give NOW the opportunity to showcase how he believes people should react in situations where violations of humanity are a tool of the government, then perhaps the idea was poorly presented and should be restated.

I do not consider it poorly presented and will not restate anything. I was clear the first time around.
This thread was intended to do two things;
1. To have a little fun with what I see as NOW's excesive efforts to be hip and relevent.
2. To inspire spirited posting from both those who are inspired by NOW and look at him as a revolutionary (Those who wish their pastors would abandon Christian songs for weeks or months of Beatles songs, etc.) and any who like me see much of it as an attempt to be relevent at all costs.
In any case as with all threads on the forum no hateful personal attacks would be tolerated. NOW's little fan club has overreacted to something they perceived as an attack on him when it was not.
I have many friends I disagee with and who do things I think are nutty. If I call them on them it doesn't mean I am attacking them, hate them. or are not their friend.

CC1, I make no efforts to be "Hip", or "Relevant." I just am who I am. You've jumped me for assembling my sermon notes on Sunday morning, for using Beatles music which was for the purpose of making spiritual points to unchurched people, for saying I'd put Timmy on a church advisory board...you've insinuated that I'm a Nazi sympathizer (you reached the bottom of the barrel with that one), you've called me "Bizarre" and "strange"..........so I know I bother you.
I'll admit, I was disgusted when I saw your thread about me. Shocked. I can't believe an Admin...our example here on the forum....would do such a thing. But now that it's over, I'm glad you did it. I was moved to tears at several of the things that were said. I printed out all of the nice things that were said and I filed them. I'll grab them on a rainy day, maybe if I'm discouraged, and I'll read them again. This isn't a "neener, neener" statement, but I don't think the thread accomplished what you hoped. Instead, it was the inspiration of some of the nicest things that have ever been said to me. So ultimately, I have to thank you for starting the thread.
My wife, however, doesn't see it that way! She's ready to hurt you! You better be careful making my woman mad!
I've PMed you four times, you've read them all, yet not responded to any. When I first joined the forum and you knew I had information about something, you PMed me numerous times asking questions. Now? Now that you've discovered you don't care for me too much? I can't get you to respond. So rather than PMing me or even answering my PM's, you start a defamatory thread, and as it turned out, it was one of the nicest things that's happened to me.
So ultimately, I must say, "Thank you."
EDIT: I just received a PM from CC1. It just arrived. Thanks CC1.

Re: With one wave of the popes hand.
NoW, I have only received one PM from you and when I got in my hotel yesteday I read it and immediately responded with a very long epistle. MOW sent me a message that you said you had not gotten a response to I went back tonight to resend it and it is not in my sent folder. I do not konw what happened but I drove 8 hours yesterday then had a meeting, drove eight hours today and had a business meeting so I am too brain dead to recreate the PM epistle tonight. Will do so when I get home Friday. I think you know I am not shy and have never not responded to your PM's before and did not ignore it this time. I am just aggravated all of that thinking and typing was for naught!

And I just got your PM and added an "EDIT" to my above post. But this isn't the first time, CC1. When you first said the things you did about my sermon preparation, which I told you was very hurtful, I PMed you before I posted anything. I attached a receipt. I received that receipt notifying me that you read it, and it was never answered. That was several weeks ago. I sent two others at that time that I didn't save. But I did save the original, I have the receipt and the sent message.
I don't wanna fight with you. It doesn't really get any of us anywhere. At this point, I'll just "Take a sad song and make it better" and just, "Let it be".

Re: With one wave of the popes hand.
NOW, your PM history to me is;
5/4 - the one I responded yesterday to but is not showing up
3/23
3/22
8/29/09 - This is as far back as I went. This was on a different subject matter.

Those in March are those which I was referring to. I opened this ID in September, and prior to that under another name, there were quite a few. I'll look, count, and then edit it into this post.
EDIT: I received 20 PM's from you, the first came on July 15, 2009 and the last was the date you gave, August 29, 2009.

Re: With one wave of the popes hand.
NOW, I am still trying to figure out if it was something I did or a glitch that cause my epistle not to send. Very aggravating.
For the last few months on both computers I access FB on something has changed and each time I go to a page I have to hit refresh or it does not give me the newest version. It drives me nuts. I don't know if somehow that had anything to do with my PM not getting sent.
The ones on 3/22 and 3/23 I didn't respond to because we were essentially having the same conversation on the thread itself.

Well yeah, sorta. But I was more pointed in the PM because I wanted you to know, directly from me and privately, how much your remarks about my sermon preparation, had hurt. I didn't go into that publicly, but wanted to tell you privately. I was surprised you didn't respond and could only assume you didn't care if your remarks had hurt.
I edited my previous post with the number of PM's previously exchanged in "Friendlier" times.
