Neat Eclipse thought
A total eclipse took place today in North America, and was the first one since 1979. The next is 2024. Our part of the continent only saw 71.6% of the sun covered... if we didn't have clouds to block our view.
At any rate, the distance from the earth to the moon and the earth to the sun make it so that a solar eclipse perfectly sees the moon cover the sun. What are the chances of that happening with a planet like earth and its moon coming between it and the sun? The sun is 400 times bigger than the moon! Imagine a huge sun that size with a tiny moon, and when the moon comes between the earth and the sun, the shadow perfectly covers the sun!
The sun, moon and stars are said to be for signs in Genesis 1. I think God did that on purpose. I believe the sign's purposes will vary, and I must add I reject the blood moon frenzy made popular by TV evangelists in the last few years, as well as any astrological error associated with horoscopes. But these things are for signs. We just need to be spiritually mature enough to learn what the signs are about.
This means the while the sun is 400 times bigger than the moon, it is 400 times further away from the earth than the moon, making the moon fully cover it when it passes between earth and sun!
God is great!

Do you believe that the different phases of the moon has an effect on the behaviors of various individuals?
Do you believe that the presence or absence of the sun has an effect on the mental health of various individuals?
What do the different positions of the sun and moon in our skies signify?

For the first two questions, not sure. I am speaking spiritually.
As for the last point.. Recall the sun at Christ's death. At his birth the star. Etc.

I was in a part of the country that got to enjoy a total eclipse and during that short time my son looked at me and said pretty much the same thing you have in your post. The chances of all of that lining up is pretty amazing. However I don't see it as any part of prophecy, just part of God's wonder as this happens every two or three years somewhere it just usually happens over the ocean or other uninhabited areas.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

My mum couldn't sleep if she THOUGHT there was a full moon. Not KNOW. THOUGHT. She'd get all antsy and just weird.
The absence of the sun may cause Vitamin D deficiency, leading to depression.

Interesting thoughts, Bro. Blume... and I agree with you about the signs in Gen. 1.... before this world was created, all these things were lined up, ready and in position, as a sign for us. So whatever that sign in the skies may mean, I cannot try to tell... we can be aware of these things, yet never lose our focus on the Lord himself.
