Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Random data for the weekend:
The Eureka, California Pentecostal Mission was founded in 1932 by a retired sea captain. They first met in a chicken coop. In 1935, they purchased a saloon and made it a church.
Sea captains and chicken coops. Gotta love it.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
More pictures came in today. But I cannot remember how to post them here.
I was in Stockton for a funeral last week. I was able to research Stockton newspapers at the library. My focus was on 1906-1908. The papers were on microfilm, so I could not "search" them. It was old school read the paper. No important data was found.
I will certainly return there to continue the research project. I hope to finish filling in the corners to this project.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
F. C. Batchelder lived in Richmond, Ca. Right around the corner from Oakland.
He published a magazine called "Meat in Due Season" apparently borrowing the name from Frank Ewart.
A issue of his publication from 1952 came in the mail today. It is full of eschatology. But no other writers contributed to the issue, other than Mrs. Batchelder. No adds, either.
I have no idea who Batchelder was and it looks like I will hunt for more issues from his magazine.
Not sure if he knew Harry Morse.
In other news, the bio of Phinneas Bresee came in the mail. Good day for mail. Hopefully it will have data about people I am writing about.
Progress.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
In 1959 Mr. and Mrs. Frank Batchelder still lived in Richmond. Their son, Walter, passed away 5/25/1959 in Danville, Ca.
Looks like the Batchelders had 2 sons: Paul and Walter.
The funeral was in Richmond. Nathan McFarland, pastor of the Apostolic Gospel Lighthouse of Chico, will officiate.
Batchelder was a student of Morse in 1938.
In the 1930 US census, Franck C. Batchelder was a man. He was in Boise, Idaho. Columnist for religious magazine. Born in Iowa. Age 52. Means he was born in 1898. Dean H. is his wife. She was born in 1895 in Tenn.
Frank Chester Batchelder. Just found his bio.
