I believe the only thing unforgivable is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. Therefore, all sin can be forgiven both pre and post New Birth. However, how do you know they "really" repented if their struggle to serve Jesus continued?
Also, please reconcile your above post with this verse:
1 John 2:19....These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us.

Honestly, I think I received the basis for that phrase sitting in an OP pew, listening to an OP sermon.
I understand how you connected this.

I am trying to describe to you the pathology of a sickness that leads to death and not just the outward manifestations of that sickness.

Faith is believing coupled with action. In fact, I am beginning to think that when people try to separate saving faith from repentance, they are trying to do something that the Bible does not do.
However, by separating the two, it supports the foundation of the OP view of salvation.

Honestly brother I don't even wonder about another's repentance. The fact of life is, some struggle more than others . I myself have struggled with one thing that some would consider petty. I have been told that I never "really" repented. I am typical type A personality so it don't bother me. However I have witnessed the same phrase shatter others faith.
