Casting Church Webcasts to TV

Last fall we upgraded our den tv to a "smart" tv with internet connectivity and Google's Chromecast feature.

While we enjoyed the built in apps on our smart tv I did not understand or use the Google "casting" feature until recently.

I was watching a church service on my chrome book when I noticed an icon in the bottom right corner of the screen that I did not recognize. When I put my mouse pointer on it I discoverd it was to "cast" what I was watching to another device, tv, etc. I clicked on it and a box came up showing the available devices to cast to and low and behold my smart tv showed up. When I clicked on it all of a sudden the webcast I was watching on my small chromebook was transferred to my 60" tv.

Of course the benefit of watching a webcast on a bigger screen is greatly affected by the quality of the webcast and your internet connection. As I type this I am watching the Pentecostals of Alexandria webcast live of their Sunday morning service. Apparently they recently updated both their video cameras and the quality of their web broadcast because it is widescreen high defintion and with awesome quality sound. I cast it to my 60" tv and it is as clear as any high definition regular tv channel.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Casting Church Webcasts to TV

A check of a couple of major churches today found that ;

The Apostolic Church (Pontiac or Auburn Hills, Michigan) has a good webcast feed. A high definition picture that does not stutter, multiple cameras, and great sound.

Christian Life Center Stockton still has old standard defintion cameras not high def or
widescreen and pretty rough live feed with not a lot of bandwith. The picture was slightly blurry and the audio lost sync with the video at times. Audio mix is pretty rough and clearly just the house mix. I know they have good singers so I have to think how much o the time they sounded flat is a quirk of the audio feed / mix.

I will try to check out some more live feeds in the upcoming Sunday's and report on them.

This is as good a place to post this dead horse......to the anti-television and especially the anit-tv/video constituents. Isn't it pretty humorous in 2017. I guarantee you 100%, me and the rest of western society waste more time on this contraption then on the 3 tv's I have at home. You can have my TV but never my computer or smart phone.

The issue was the "smart tv" is for dumb people who want Uncle Google and his cousin Uncle Sam sitting in their living rooms watching everything (even when the boob tube is off).

Cars are starting to become too "smart" for my liking as well. Too much integrating with wifi, apps and other electronics which can monitor where you go, how fast you go, etc.

Pretty soon we'll be hearing about "smart people" with a chip in their brain and a direct line to the Pentagon.
