You have cause to wonder at what has transpired at CLC Stockton in the last few years but just a small correction to the narrative: The facilities on West Lane can, at the most, seat barely 2000 not 3000 as has been stated.

Re: Christian Life Center Stockton CA
Hey, maybe we should pray that God draw more souls to them?
We can post these prayers here or set aside a day to prepare and pray together.

it is like art or music or beauty, I'm at a loss for words to define it.

Re: Christian Life Center Stockton CA
Something this thread made me think of . . .
I'm attending one of FPC Palm Bay's satellite campuses and recently the Pastor of this campus said *we are not going to focus on numbers*
This satellite is growing slowly, and most of the people that are coming in are Apostolics who for whatever reason were not attending church.
Then, I read a facebook post from DKB which stated: *save your family first,* which I found interesting because I had always heard preachers say that if you save others God will save your family. And we know that isn't always the case.
So, yesterday God spoke to me to call my sister, she is an Apostolic who is often too busy to attend church, she confided that she was depressed and lonely and we chatted for a long time, and I really felt God impress me that I needed to secure her right now, spend time with her.
It isn't always about numbers.

Biblically, anointing is a figure of speech referring to God authorizing and empowering someone to do something.
Religiously, among charismatics, the "anointing" is a feeling or emotion or sensation that usually corresponds with being pleased at what is preached, sung, or done, as well as an induced sensation brought on by a mixture of group reinforced expectations and one's desires to "feel or experience something extraordinary", very much like kundalini sensations and experiences in yoga.

Most people are referring to a feeling when they say anointed. I don't think that is totally inaccurate, but sometimes feelings can be manipulated and misled. That is why it is important to be scriptural in our experiences. I don't like to act upon feelings alone without some biblical precedent.

This isn't aimed at CC1 or you, but I've had this debate with people in the past . . .
Some people will criticize a church for what they believe is lack of growth (numbers), but then they will criticize a church who is growing and publishes their growth (numbers).
What is the primary reason for the church? Is it to win new souls? Or, is it to instruct, edify and send out those who are already believers?
If the primary mission of the church is to win new souls, then there should be consistent numerical growth.
If the primary mission of the church is to instruct, edify and send out those who are already believers, then it is possible a church may not show much numerical growth at all.
