You are in my prayers. Don't let Satan lie to you, there is nothing worth ending your life over. You were created by God and God did a good job when he did it. Remember that God doesn't make mistakes. Whatever it is your going through, never give up.

Simply... you need Jesus! As others have said the church is an awesome and wonderful thing when it is serving as it should, as a body, but when the message, such as you have heard, becomes perverted... it is sick. You need to find a better place to worship, and seek the face of Jesus.

Re: Extremely blue

You should want a relationship with God and to be part of a church family but not because someone has put fear in your mind that if you don't do that you will commit suicide. That is hogwash. I would love to see someone show stats that folks who leave church commit suicide in any greater percentage than any other group of people.

No church is perfect because they are made up of imperfect people and imperfect leaders but find one where the vast majority of the people and leadership are honest hearted and seeking after Christ with all of their heart and you can find peace, joy, comfort, and strength from a relationship with God and the support and fellowship of such a church.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Extremely blue

cg - sad to hear that someone would say that. I will say that "most" people who I have seen leave church do struggle. i have had one close friend who left and did commit suicide. I would encourage you to somehow find a church where you can believe the doctrine and find people you can trust. Do not focus on those in church who are not being what they should be. We have to model ourselves after Christ and not each other.
Now, I will say that if you are having suicidal thoughts it is because God is still in control of your life. If the devil had control, he would have done away with you. He does not, but it trying to make you believe things will never change and life will only get worse.
Remember, God loves you and real people of God will too.

Re: Extremely blue

Thank you all so much. I did go visit a small apostolic church the other day and I've made an appointment with a counselor. The church was small but the people were extremely nice. I was curious as to if any one else had heard this fear being taught from behind the pulpit? Heard it for almost 6 yrs, walked out the back door and never went back. My heart honestly sank when I thought about the reasons I felt this way. God's people shouldn't be one of them.

Try paying the vows you made to God. Like how many of them
have you yet to honor? You have to pay Him what you owe Him.
He does not dismiss them.

You do this and everything will change for the better for you.
