So....you want an intelligent discussion, but you refuse to look at what's posted? Are you trolling us?

Re: What does it mean to be a conservative?

Are you trolling me? All I did was offer an accurate definition of the two, based on the commonly accepted academic descriptions of each. Don't assume that "embracing change" always has good results, or that "fearing change" is always a bad thing. But it can be demonstrated through the study of the social sciences that, in general, poorer peoples tend to be more conservative and richer ones tend to be more liberal; this is a fact, not an opinion.

you are seeing this from a different paradigm than others are, but not an incorrect one.

Commonly accepted?

Be careful with the use of "commonly accepted" to strengthen an argument.

That doesn't make sense to me on the premise that not all of us grew up as Christians, Apostolic Pentecostals. Change is how some of us got here in the first place. We just aren't into reinventing the wheel, and therefore don't go after things which don't Biblically work.

Bro, you need to move on from what you learned behind a laptop and look outside of Harvard Yard.

Thank you for this, it is refreshing and encouraging. Bringing a new paradigm to the conversation, one that can expand understanding, is and was my point in posting.

Please explain "expand understanding?"

How do you see this?

You should not scoff at Harvard Yard, you could learn a lot there...if you could get admitted; I know I could not, lol.

That's a tough one...consider this quote:

"Man is no Aristotelian god, contemplating all of existence at one glance."- Walter Lippman

This is perhaps my favorite quote from Dr. Thomas Sowell's book 'Knowledge and Decisions'. Do you appreciate the point he is making? Tell me what you think it means.

There's a backdoor to Harvard. It's called Harvard University Extension School.

Still it is pure religion in its own right. Instead of priests you have professors. Instead of holy books, you have text books, instead of scriptural doctrine, you have academic driven agenda. After all this you end up proving your points with what you believe is "commonly accepted." Homosexuality is commonly accepted, but not Biblically accepted. Interesting a school which was created to teach the Bible has devolved into the socialist font it is today.

I understand where you are coming from, but I would like to answer your earlier question. Would you please tell me what you think the quote means?
