This is their claim... that is for sure...

But they are saying that they did all of these things in Jesus' name and yet he then replies that he never even knew them.

If anything was actually done because of one calling on his name and then Jesus doing the work because they had called on his name then I would have to assume that Jesus knew them at one time.

It brings the phrase "lying wonders" to my mind.

It would seem that one of them, in this conversation, is being disingenuous and I tend to lean away from it being Jesus.
It seems that the Corinthian church were used of in the gifts and yet appear to be quite carnal

Let it be understood that Apostolic Friends Forum is an Apostolic Forum.
Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

The purpose of the fruit is to spread and nourish the seed.

Many a seed is spread because of sweet fruit!

And yet they were the Corinthian CHURCH and would have, therefore, known Him.
