THE JOY OF THE LORD - How you get it!

Luke 15:10
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Have you ever heard that the Angels are rejoicing over one sinner? Look closely at the scripture…it shows that there is JOY in the PRESENCE of the angels who do you think is in the presence of Angels?

God is having JOY when souls are won to him and he is the one who is in the presence of ANGELS!

Now, watch what happens when the Lord has Joy!

Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

We get strength from God in winning souls! When we bring souls to God he gets Joy and in return sends us strength!

The strength helps us stay saved!

James 5:20
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

From reading your site, I think the key is prayer. Pray for open doors, hearts that are hungry for God, to be led of the Spirit, a burden for the lost etc.

Going out into enemy territory is scary and I'm sure I couldn't do it by myself. What do you do and what do you say when you go out on the streets (highways and the byways)?

I have the joy of the Lord when I am living in a way that is pleasing to Him. There are times when that is working with the lost and times when that is working with the saved. There certainly is great joy when "winning" someone to the Lord. However, the real joy is not just seeing them baptized etc. but when they really get grounded and learn to LIVE for the Lord in the midst of every day life and make decisions based upon His word.

At least that is this pastor's perspective.

The times in my life I've had the greatest joy were when I recieved the Holy Ghost, when my husband rec'd the HG, when my son rec'd the HG, and when my older daughter was praying for the HG! I also absolutely LOVE to watch people come up out of the waters of baptism! How awesome to watch a human go down a sinner & come up out of the water white as snow!!
