Ted Cruz, TPA, and Cruzbot dishonesty
https://theconservativetreehouse.com...-tpa-argument/
This is being posted for the benefit of those who haven't lost their brains due to Cruz virus infection.
"However, the best way to understand the issue of his support is to actually listen to Ted Cruz explain in 2015 why he supported, then stopped supporting TPA:"
(video at link)
"TPA is HR2146 (TPA “Trade Promotion Authority” containing “Fast Track”): This House Bill #2146 originating April 30th ’15, became the vehicle for passage of Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal.
HR2146 was originally introduced in the House of Representatives as a bill to address issues with retirement funds of federal law enforcement officers and firefighters.
In the beginning of the congressional session, with Republicans now in control of both the House and Senate, in Feb-March-April of 2015, Senator Ted Cruz and House Ways and Means Chairman, Representative Paul Ryan, supported Trade Promotion Authority being added to HR2146.
Their support was most notable when they posted the following Op-Ed which appeared in the Wall Street Journal on April 22nd:
http://paulryan.house.gov/news/docum...umentID=398270 "
Lots more at the link, including more links. Warning: Cruzbots will see things that contradict their hopey-changey unicorn farts and skittles delusions, so its best they just ignore the link(s) and keep chanting "Yes we can!"

Already been over this a hundred times. It's intellectually dishonest to continue pushing a false narrative about this.
Cruz does not support TPP and did not craft TPA as you claim.

Re: Ted Cruz, TPA, and Cruzbot dishonesty
And of course Cruz helped push TPA, opening the way for TPP, because the GOP is in favor of "free trade" - NAFTA was supported by a higher percentage of Republican senators and reps than democruds. So its no surprise that the GOP would rather Hillary Clinton be President - they are NOT the "opposition party". That's just empty rhetoric.

Like that means anything. As if campaign ads from Cruz' office are somehow "neutral". Unicorn farts and skittles, there ya go.

Its FACT. He and Paul Ryan created TPA. the link I gave includes Cruz ADMITTING he supported TPA, and has him saying he's read TPP and so far so good.
Unicorns and rainbows, hope and change, never mind THE RECORD.

"Putting Congress in Charge on Trade
‘Fast track’ authority will give lawmakers more say over agreements that are vital for economic growth.

By Paul Ryan and Ted Cruz
The United States is making headway on two historic trade agreements, one with 11 countries on the Pacific Rim and another with America’s friends in Europe. These two agreements alone would mean greater access to a billion customers for American manufacturers, farmers and ranchers."

Re: Ted Cruz, TPA, and Cruzbot dishonesty
On another bill HR 1314 Cruz voted against an amendment to the Trade Deal that would require congress to be consulted if China (or other nations) were to join after the fact:
Senate Amendment 1251 “To require the approval of Congress before additional countries may join the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement”…
http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LI...n=1&vote=00189
Cruz voted NAY. Directly saying he did not want congress to be consulted before other countries, namely CHINA, could join TPP.

Cruz did NOT craft TPA. He was NOT the author of the TPA bill. That is false.

Supporting the bill and authoring the bill are two very different things. Cruz voted against TPA. Also, Cruz does not support TPP.
And yes, the record does matter.

Re: Ted Cruz, TPA, and Cruzbot dishonesty
From the US Senate Committee on Finance:
""" Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and House Ways and Means Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) today introduced bipartisan, bicameral Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation that establishes concrete rules for international trade negotiations to help the United States deliver strong, high-standard trade agreements that will boost American exports and create new economic opportunities and better jobs for American workers, manufacturers, farmers, ranchers and entrepreneurs."""
Where's Cruz's name??? But.....but.....but Esaias said "It's FACT" that Cruz created the bill, along with Paul Ryan.
Hatch, Wyden and Ryan created TPA...not Cruz.
Read the record.
