So Rock goes to what he knows. But isn't the motive and faith what matters to the Lord?

Spiritual death requires a resurrection. Repentance is good, but not the whole.

I'm not UPC, so any sniping about that organization doesn't affect me. The New Birth is preached by more than just the UPC.

Re: Rock Hudson Repented Before His Death
n David, thanks for the post.
Rock and my father were friends. His death bothered my father. May he rest in peace.

I know there are those who feel like it's unfair for someone to live a life of debauchery and then at the last minute seek the mercy of God. But isn't what this parable is all about?:

Brennan Manning?
What insanity.

A man, ANY man repents and angels rejoice. Me too!

I don't think angels are having a hoedown when a Roman Catholic priest is taking a confession from a dying man. If the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be. Ecclesiastes 11:3

The guy is still repenting - does it matter who hears him?

Re: Rock Hudson Repented Before His Death
Hebrews 12:16-17
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
Who says that God accepted his repentance, not to mention no water baptism or Holy Ghost infilling?
I think we are too quick & too easy to put people into Heaven & not relying enough on what the Word of God says.
After all, it is his Heaven, his Universe, his Bible.
He sets the criteria.
