Here's Ziemke's ad in the 1978 25th Anniversary CBC Yearbook.

You can see that he pastored a church called The World of Pentecost.

Re: Heretics and Politics by Thomas A. Fudge
I have a suspicion that many old timers being identified as 'one steppers' might not be so cozy with the term, as it is understood these days...
Not that I know anything, I have no background in any of this. Just making an observation about a phenomenon I see recurring not only here among AFF members, but across the board (religious and secular).

Re: Heretics and Politics by Thomas A. Fudge
And what was so special about a 'new revelation, a new move of God' that comes down to 'let's drop Sunday School and just have one service on Sunday'???? How in the world would that get anybody excited?

Suffice it to say that it was not successful in it's efforts to leave the UPC and build a super church.

Are you a CBC alum? Just curious.

Yes he did but it was not affiliated with Kenneth Phillips "World of Pentecost". Once KP came up with that name there were several churches that adopted it but were not related in any way. In fact today there is at least one UPC church named "World of Pentecost" and it certainly has no affiliation with KP.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

And speaking of Joe, I believe Hayes is his brother-in-law.
Joe left Idaho three years ago and moved to Dallas.

Gene is still on staff at Overcomer's Covenant, and yes Hayes is Joe's brother in law. The church my children are starting is under Gordon Banks as their covering.

I am not going to state this as fact but as I recall there was an organization of ministers within UPCI centered around Mark Hanby, that Geine Zeimke was part of. (called the world of Pentecost) One of the main things about this group was that they did away with Sunday School, and went to one service on Sunday.
Our Pastor's oldest son and first wife attended Hanby's church for a time and came back excited about this new thing, and tried to get his dad to change. Around the same time Zeimke preached a fellowship meeting on the subject of "finding another way". Several churches in the state switched to one Sunday service because of this. During the 80"s Zeimke's church continued to have major growth, but most of the ministers in the state thought it was because he watered down the message. Right after the completion of their new church building Zeimke left, and the new pastor took the church out of UPCI.
Zeimke is now a senior pastor/minister in Federal Way, the church the Parkers started and pulled out of the UPCI in the early 90's. And yes they are of the PCI persuasion I personally have that from Joe Parkers mouth.

The World of Pentecost was Kenneth Phillips church name and name of his television program. There was no "World of Pentecost by Mark Hanby".

The only thing I may be mixed up on is the name of the group of ministers within the UPCI, not talking about church names.

Hey Esaias,
I totally agree with you on the old timers might not be cozy with how the one steppers portray their message. Someone around here said that in the old days everybody just preached Acts 2:38! Regardless of their theology you would never know it because the BIG deal was getting people to repent, baptized in Jesus name and the baptism of the Holy Ghost!
BUT I know also people sit in a pew for years or decades and believe what ever they want. Very few people go to a church and believe 100% with the preacher. I believe there are one steppers sitting in UPC pews who just keep their mouth shut.

No, but I have brothers and sisters that are.
They were very involved with CBC from mid 60's until the closure.
