I don't think it would be a matter of sin, but a matter of shame. Would a man walk naked? Of course not because it would cause him to be ashamed. When Adam and Eve were naked their natural consciousness caused them to want to be clothed. The covering of our nakedness is natural conviction apart from any law just as Paul suggests of male and female hair.

Isn't it interesting that we are dealing with modesty issues. People would be ashamed of going down the street completely naked, but if they have on shorts up to their crotch they somehow feel covered? Every generation strips away one layer at a time. I think we are leaving are natural consciousness of things.

Sin is transgression of the law, but the law did not come until Moses. Sin came into the world in the garden Eden.

Genesis 4:6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door.

Paul didn't see hair as a cultural issue, but he seen hair as natural issue.

The last part I am not sure of(what it means)
Yeah, it's kinda of a mystery text. I think it might refer to being under the authority of her head, the husband. Either way, those texts don't support the uncut hair doctrine many subscribe to.

Any law you want to use, it's not in there that is sin for women to cut their hair.

I think when he refers to "nature" he is referring to cultural norms. Some say it is nature as in literal nature such as the animal kingdom, but that makes no sense. What are we going to look at? A fish? can't use lions as examples for sure.

Re: Uncut Hair

If your hair is a glory to you would you cut it?

I know some black ladies whose hair will not grow to lengths that us Caucasians would consider long. so should they feel ashamed? Or should they both view their hair as their natural God given covering and to just let it grow as long as it will.

He didn't say uncut hair is her glory.

I don't know if you are seeing it or not, but headship roles are being trimmed as well. The roles of the husband in the home is being destroyed in our culture. Nature tells us that man is the head, but culture is telling men that they are male chauvinists to think they are to lead there homes. The lines are being blurred.

Re: Uncut Hair

There is just no biblical support for the uncut hair doctrine. Not with out projecting into text and rationalizing it.

No it didn't say uncut hair. It says a woman's hair is a glory unto her. My point still stands. If your hair is a glory to you would you want one hair to fall to the ground?
