I think having armed military police on any government bldg. is o.k. by me. I don't think that our on duty soldiers should be carrying weapons around everywhere on U.S. soil (that could backfire as sean said). All Americans who have no criminal record should be able to carry, but I don't think it is expedient for most to do so. The point wasn't for soldiers to wear firearms wherever they want (unless the law permits open carry/conceal carry in their area, then they should be allowed the same right as any other citizen), it was specifically about arming soldiers on base. Frankly, I'm amazed that soldiers cannot be armed while on a military base. I was practically flabbergasted when I first that.
