Would God you were as interested in the improper behavior of the pastor in question. His license should be pulled.

Re: Pastoral Spiritual Abuse
No group preacher or saint has a monopoly on being an idiot. We already know that. so what is the purpose?

Are you calling this pastor an idiot?

It never fails.
1. On forums such as this we're told, over and over, that the type of behavior exhibited in the screen shots is rare, or non-existent.
2. Someone is given access to such behavior, deletes the names of those involved, and posts the evidence.
3. Those who deny this type of behavior happens immediately bash the person who dared submit the evidence, and call for the evidence to be deleted.
None of this is surprising...not the fact that pastors hide behind internet walls and discuss situations that should be confidential, not the fact that some pastors are controlling dictators who value legacy over people, and not the fact that they are willing to destroy anyone who realizes as much.
|
Were you one of those dictators when you were at the helm?

Before you throw stones and judge this man, understand you are reading something with no context, which is out of order and all jumbled around. The man is obviously upset that there has been a violation of trust. I wouldn't be surprised if "unitedpraise10" was the same one who printed off the conversation and gave it to the family.
Self absorbed? I don't know this dude, but you probably should know the whole story, not just the bits of what some troll posted on here.

Oh good grief. Pastors are under an incredible amount of stress. They're quitting the ministry and even in so deep depression that more than one I've read has killed himself.
And it's because of people like you. Who are Pastor's supposed to speak with, if not other Pastors? Would you rather they keep the stress and pain inside, become depressed and blow their brains out? You would, wouldn't you? You'd just consider it one less "controlling dictator."

Improper behavior? Please.
His license should be pulled? Really? For what? Being rightly angry that some jerk violated the trust of the private group and messed up an already difficult situation?
Would to God you confided in someone and had them violate your trust by posting your issues on an online forum for everyone to read. Let's see how you'd react then. I'm not a betting man, but I'm going to say your reaction would be the same if not worse than this Pastor.

Re: Pastoral Spiritual Abuse
I know what spiritual abuse is and I don't see it. A pastor or 2 whining about people leaving? If you never thought pastors don't talk to eachother about the people in their churches you where blind. Not only do they gaggle about there saints, they love to trash preachers that either let up on standards or preachers they don't believe are called but put up by man as blue bloods to keep the seed preaching.

Re: Pastoral Spiritual Abuse
For the record, I'd be just as upset if this dude came on AFF and posted the private posts of someone who wasn't a minister. The fact these were posted by a minister means nothing.
My main issue is with the violation of trust and cowardly act of hiding behind an anonymous screen name to post a private conversation. Not just that, but it's insulting. Obviously this dude has little respect for AFF and its treatment of ministers. Why else would he come on here and post the screenshots?
Someone on AFF a while back posted the contents of a PM in a thread. I was even in the middle of a disagreement with the person who authored the PM, but in spite of that posted that it wasn't right and was a violation of AFF rules.
Any time any one takes what is supposed to be a private message or conversation and posts it publicly to AFF, I will post against it. It's unethical. It shows a lack of character and integrity. And it's incredibly cowardly to do so hiding behind an anonymous screen name.
