Look, you also saw the photos and tweets. Nobody but a few know what he said about them on that minister forum but it was not ethical to use them to represent something he was doing without clearly stating so.

Yes, as you said awhile back, he can and it's legal. But it isn't ethical. That's my problem with it.

The rest of this is half playing and half disgust at who got picked to speak. That goes back to the Acacia days when I saw that Osama wife video and studied him (LS, not Acacia) like a bug. What he says, what he writes, what his sermons say.

We discuss passages out of both books from time to time, sometimes at length. We do not agree on the interpretation of these passages but there is a moral duty to take the words, break them down, and take them as they are without spinning something out of them that are not clearly written there.

That's my problem with him. That and he blew a chance to speak of tolerance and reconciliation and spun off topic in his message and somehow just being there is elevating him with a few here.

I was more referring to what Jesus actually did and said.

I gotta get some sleep
Apparently, the writer of the book of Hebrews knew something you don't see nor, at this time, can comprehend - God was manifest in the flesh.

Had he walked, talked, or listened to Jesus he would have had an opportunity to pray to the same God Jesus prayed to and also taught His other followers to pray to.

Perhaps the book of Hebrews would have put things a little differently had that happened.

There has been a TON of exaggeration for years, which is why when I first saw this I actually kinda cringed. I KNEW the Devils Advocates would be out in force and maybe for good reason

The problem though, I see, is their side does not really have a healthy skepticism. Ask questions, examine facts. Let others come to conclusions
I agree with this, Prax...why do WE feel WE need validation? The Word doesn't need validation...it's the Word. So unless we are cheering that one soul heard a word of truth who may not have heard it any other way, our joy is for the wrong reason.

An example: When I first saw this video clip it was on my FB news feed, so I clicked on the link. After a little bit of listening to the 'testimony', I skipped over to the end, and heard his remarks concerning Jesus and quoting Acts 2:38.

There were 2 comments on the YouTube link...one was something like "Amen!" The 2nd post disturbed me because the poster said something to the effect, "How wonderful for US?"

I posted, "For US? That's what's wrong with US...it's too much about US and not enough about THEM." Not exact, but lose enough...

Next thing I knew, the posts were gone and the link locked for comments.

What did I say that was wrong?

The fact that that LS or anyone is speaking in any public arena does nothing to validate us as a whole or our personal experience and relation with Jesus Christ.

The ONLY good thing is the truth of the Word of God spoken

"That the excellency of the power might be of God and NOT of us."

I didn't see any tweets and only a few photos posted here without captions

I dont see using other images as unethical when they are not copy written. I do see mis-representing them as something they are not as unethical but I am willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt that it was not their intent.

It could be just a case of thoughtlessness...which as evidenced from this topic, is quite common.

  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Yes it's sad. One other thing...we don't need LS's stories, as exaggerated as they can be. We need to focus more on prayer and evangelism, not sensationalism

"He who lives by sensationalism shall die by sensationalism" - Me :-)

Ironically I will defer the above in favor of what Jesus did and said.

Guilty of that myself. Its difficult to not do that. Do you to feel free to call me out on it when I do.
