He gave them Jesus in the context of OP, which confused the message, like many early Christians confused the Gospel with Judaism.

*EDIT*
Yeah, first thing he said (after the greetings), was that it happened on November 12th, 2003.
Yes, he was healed of cardiac disease in 2003, and then a year later his cardiac doctor told him he no longer had the cardiac disease DNA at all. However, last year, 2014, I know that there was a prayer thread for him because he was having serious cardiac surgery. My point is - if you have been completely healed and delivered from a disease, and the doctor says you don't even have the cardiac disease gene in your DNA, then why did he have cardiac surgery in 2014?

I'm not trying to take away from the fact that he presented Jesus to the UN, which I think is great, and I'm thankful for that.

I'm just trying to understand why he had to mention the "no cardiac disease gene" to the world, when obviously he still has it???

If he could have just stopped with the miraculous event that took place in 2003, without bringing in the tale that the doctor told him that even his DNA was clear of cardiac disease, it would have been more believable.

Re: Lee Stoneking Addresses UN

My point is that was not the purpose of the meeting. It was not a let's come together to create one religion type of meeting.
It was to try to bring peace to all the unrest in the world. That may not even be possible...
Even if he had ignored all the parameters of the agenda and really gave them the gospel would have been better than 6 mins of his miracle and 1 min of Jesus. They didn't go home thinking about what repentance means and have they really done that, they didn't go home thinking about what Jesus did for them on the cross. That he died for their sins. It didn't matter if they who they were. He died for them. He could have said that in 7 mins.
They didn't go home thinking about making a life change.
They went home if they thought about him at all they thought about this guy who said he died and came back to life.
Quoting acts 2:38 and saying I give you Jesus wasn't giving them the gospel. Yes, He is the answer to every single problem we face in this world today but they didn't hear about who Jesus is, they did however hear about blood coagulating and shock paddles and dna. That's what they will remember...

How? He presented Acts 2:38 showing them how to get to Jesus after inciting folks that God is real and does miracles. A testimony is indeed about us because it relates what we experienced. The word of our testimony helps overcome the devil.

Genes/dna etc are very complicated areas. I don't know as much as I would like to. There is no one gene for cardiac diseases. I believe that there are 3 markers for heart disease. To remove any of the 3 and you're at risk I believe 100% risk for acute coronary syndrome.
There is so much more involved with all of that.
The gene that he mentioned the apoe... is a gene that aids in the instruction of PREVENTION heart issues. There are different variations of that gene. I don't think a dr would be excited about that but he would be even more concerned if he saw that come up on a test.

Sometimes things can be used to embellish and make a story more believable. I don't think LS is lying, but I do think certain aspects of his miracle and continued health afterwards do raise some questions in my mind.
Just some thoughts I had and just one aspect of the story of his miracle that concerns me...

This.

What was presented was done well. Establish that God is real and alive and working miracles today. Then state the necessity of the New Birth message and end proclaiming that the answer to today's violence and world turmoil is Jesus Christ.

As I posted previously, the recent surgery was not due to any cardiac disease. He had stints placed in his heart from 10 years ago or so which had to be replaced.

My father had a pacemaker put it well over a decade ago. He doesn't have a cardiac disease, but he recently had to undergo surgery to replace the battery on it.

As I posted, it is clear to folks with OP roots, others not so much.

He read the verse and told people this was the will of God. Seems plain enough for anyone to understand. How else can you present it?
