Dr's don't just use vaccinations as a way of ensuring repeat business though. My PCP tries pushing meds we don't need, which could cause worse issues which would require different medication.... and on and on it goes.
He asked me how I was once, and I told him a was a bit tired. That was a mistake. He rattled off 20 more questions about depression and anxiety and recommended an RX. I'm not depressed! I was up late the night before and woke up early that morning. I was simply tired from lack of a good night's rest.

Oh my goodness! This makes me crazy!!! Don't tell your doctor I used the "c" word or he will want to medicate me as well. LOL!
One reason I never see a doctor unless I am bleeding or in extreme pain.
We were in a rear-end collision a few years ago and one nurse ran out of the room to tell another nurse that I said I had never taken the flu shot and never intend to do so. I wanted to laugh and say, "Calm down, lady."
It was totally hilarious and also totally embarrassing to see a person respond that way. It is just plain fear, and it's really sad people live their lives with such fear.

I agree, it's money. But, I also believe it's hyped fear that drives these people as well.

So, if a person wants to be vaccinated or vaccinate their child they're a few fries short of a Happy Meal?

You won't see me ever posting anything other than "parental choice". Each parent is responsible for their choice. You won't see an anti-vaccine person demanding ALL people stop vaccinating. We just don't want the pro-vaccine side to demand that we vaccinate as well.

Yes, true. But the fear serves a purpose, and generally it can be boiled down simply to the almighty dollar and/or power.

Right - people should have a choice, especially because vaccines affect everyone differently. This hysteria that is going on now is just plain fear mongering.

Re: ILG - Vaccine Hysteria
So what would be your advice to a young mother concerning vaccination?
1. Vaccinate
2. Do not vaccinate under any condition?
3. Do your research on reputable web sites and since you will have to live with the negative possibilities of your decisions, make up your own mind.
4. Vaccinate for your child, as well as other children that your child will come in contact with.
5. Vaccinate your child or plan on home schooling him/her.
