Re: Welcome Fellow Christians - Steve Pixler 8/17/

May God help us all....I do not know much so will not say much...in the past I always loved to hear him preach...I love his folks and family and am praying for all involved. That is the most important thing right now is prayer. He has written several good books is a wonderful singer and very talented. His mother and father will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary celebration next week I believe. Wish I could walk in their and hug their necks.

Baloney.

You are sowing discord in that church, impugning the man's character, and slandering him publicly.

I assume you, and all of the other preachers who love to stir this stuff up on social media, have followed the Biblical mandate to GO TO HIM personally with your concerns before making your opinions public?

"More than meets the eye." That type of blanket comment is slanderous. Either say what you mean, or don't make a comment like that that is open to so much conjecture.

But, who cares? We'll just pound the pulpit over our pet subjects, and ignore the Biblical teachings on how to handle differences properly.
This. ^^^^

Steve Epley is poisoning the well.

He is cursing Pixler.

Re: Welcome Fellow Christians - Steve Pixler 8/17/

I do not think Elder Epley is meaning to sound harsh. I have found him to be a true christian and a true minister of the gospel. I am sure he must know things we do not know and he does not agree however I do not think he means any harm to Brother Steve Pixler. He just does not agree with whatever he knows about and it is probably none of our business.
I do hope Brother Pixler is not into some things I worry about that often happens but I really do not know....Other than some of his men using beards and some couples using rings which is no secret for they are about all my friends on facebook that is all I know. Brother Steve Pixler folks come from a background and are what many call ultra cons so it is very shocking to see things we have never seen from there before. While most ultra cons would be quick to say that there is no bible against beards they do not use people that wear them. Lots of UPCI and some WPF churches uses rings...so maybe he is changing his fellowship to another type group or maybe something is deeper than we know about. I don't know....l am praying for his folks and all involved.
There is a trend and I am not saying there for I KNOW NOTHING however some people that I do know that "let down" began social drinking and from there it went to dancing and on and on....Do not read into what I am saying I KNOW NOTHING about Brother Pixler's situation. I want to always remember him as a down to earth preacher.
I did send him an e mail that we would be going through Texas and would be glad to stop by as I translated a booklet some time ago for him. (Has nothing to do with anything that is being said) He was very honest and said to me, "at the moment it would be better not to come it would hurt you all". I did not know that things were that bad but he did mention a few that had come by and suffered for it.
He was very honest with me, I thanked him and hope to be someone no matter where or how far he goes he can know I pray for him...and perhaps in time God will move and things will change....

You know changing the subject last night looking something up on the internet I came across a sermon preached by Mark Hamby many years ago. The Ribbon of Blue...I heard him preach that personally once...that was many many years ago...I did not know it was even on the net...I sat and wept the whole sermon because I knew the Williams and Hamby family...I knew him when he was used by te Lord...

One of the greatest sermons on soulwinning I ever heard preached was by Kenneth Philips.
Do not think I am judging or running anyone down for I am not.... I am just concerned for a family I love and pray that someway things can change. I really am not interested in knowing anything....It is all I can do to keep Janice Alvear in line and prayed up....lol..that is a job...

Well although I disagree with you, I still hope that many good future saints will find your church and stay there and that their souls would be blessed by you.

I will wish for God to bring you increase in your ministry.
I will not speak evil words against someone who I consider a brother in the Lord. that includes you and brother Steve.

Elder Epley is a friend of mine and I respect him greatly. However it is not right for you to expect the rebuking to be a one way street. To make the kind of statement he did about hoping a man's entire church walks out on him and not expecting some kind of rebuke is not rational.

His standing as an elder should not mean that any questionable statements he makes should not be called into question. That is the atmosphere of a cult.

I knew before he posted what he did that this would be his position. Do I wish he had held his tongue or been more dipomatic? Of course! However he did not so he should expect just as strong a response as his statement was. I don't believe he will take offense and would expect nothing less from those who strongly disagree with him.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Are you saying that those more conservative ministers who visited after changes were being made, that they suffered from the rebukes/shunning or whatever of their fellow conservatives?

If so, that is wrong. If some feel this pastor is leading people to be lost now (which to me would be the reason for someone to say they hoped everyone left the church), I guess some are all too quick to toss them to the wayside as if they never really mattered. What happens to Galatians 1
Quote:
1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. 2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. 4But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. 5For every man shall bear his own burden.
or to Jude 1
Quote:
20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Just want to clear this up, as once again, it leaves a lot of people wondering exactly what he "knows".

A lot of preachers' forums are discussing Steve, as are a lot of preachers sitting around "preachers' tables." As always, in these situations, a lot of misinformation is flowing. Such as - he's now a trinitarian. (no, he's NOT)

Once again I'll say - if your brother has a fault go to HIM, not a forum, or other people. If you haven't done that, you have no business discussing them and what you've heard.

Everything Steve believes is available online at his church's website, in his sermons. Go listen to words from his own mouth, not other people's.

And now I'm going to try to bow out of the conversation, since gossip tends to make me angry

(Sis. Alvear, this wasn't directed at you, your spirit was very gracious.)

Re: Welcome Fellow Christians - Steve Pixler 8/17/

Why was this thread initially started? I'm sure it was to get people's response and so you have it. I don't even know who Steve Pixlar is so I can't say anything, but I would expect there be comments made if you post a sermon of a preacher who has changed his doctrinal stances on a forum where his contemporaries are present. I hope he is being led of God whatever it is that is going on, and will pray that he stay in or return to the truth whichever it is that is going on.
