It's kind of been forever....
For those who know me, hi again.
It's strange to see so many of the threads I participated in still active....y'all talk a lot about the same things.
For those who don't know me, hi! It's nice to meet you. I'm not sure how active I'll be here, life is super crazy and heading in an even crazier direction.
When I logged in earlier, it said the last time I was here was April 2012. That's a whole lotta days ago! I'm pretty sure it was longer ago than that since I've been active, probably by at least a year.
I graduated with an undergrad degree in multidisciplinary studies (aka...I can't make up my mind) in history and religion in May 2012. In other words, I graduated from a Bible college with a degree in religion with a lot of history/geography credits thrown in for good measure, and took a lot of everything else to balance it out nicely.
In August 2012, I started working on an MDiv in Missional Studies, I changed that to Global Studies sometime between then and now. I'm about halfway finished with that degree. But, I just changed my mind again. Because that's just how I roll...
I'll be starting a degree in professional counseling in August and in six semesters I'll have a graduate degree! My plan after that is to finish my MDiv, but the adviser mentioned another cool possibility that I'll explore at that time. I may be able to take a few more classes and transition directly into a DMin degree, but I'll figure that out in 2 or 3 years.
I am currently involved in a church plant in the town I live in that has been meeting once a month. I've been driving an hour to attend the church that is planting this one, just to get to know people. In August, we'll start meeting locally every week.
I'm also involved in another church plant (this one will meet on Saturdays) 40 or so minutes away. We'll start meeting weekly in September.
I'm excited to see what happens with these new churches, and very excited to be able to be involved.
It sounds like I may also start offering lay counseling under the supervision of the counselor I'm seeing right now. Lots of crazy and busy, but all of it in an amazing and incredible direction.
Kids, let's see. They're 16, almost 15, almost 13, and almost 10 now. By October, I'll have three teenagers and nobody will be in the single digits anymore. I have no idea how that happened! My kids have become, and are becoming, the most amazing people. I really love parenting teenagers. They are all homeschooling right now and, while challenging (I also work full time, and then there's the school thing for myself) it seems to be working out well. My oldest will be graduating next month.
