For me, the Word of God is the Word of God...whether spoken by Jesus, the apostles, or a donkey. They all carry the same weight. Thus the qualifier to rightly divide the word of truth. Otherwise, we'd all end up in a ditch. For example, Jesus said if we didn't hate our family, we couldn't be His disciples. If we put your period...end of story...on that quote, we could start a church and call it "Haters for Jesus"

If two men believe the same, their words will be in agreement.

Those whose words are not in agreement with the apostles, do not believe the same as the apostles.

Thus, they have a different belief system, ie a different religion, than the apostles.

Some people's religion leads them to say 'baptism doesn't save anybody'. Peter's religion led him to say 'baptism doth also now save us'.

Some people's religion leads them to say 'baptism doesn't wash away sins'. Brother Ananias' religion led him to say 'Arise, and be baptised, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'

Some people's religion leads them to say 'he that believes and is not baptised shall be saved', but Jesus' religion led him to say 'he that believes and is baptised shall be saved'.
