Nope, no tamaracks here.

You must be in So or No Carolina. We stopped once at the "Tamarack ?" I loved the art. This guy's whole art show was, mostly sky, with a small amount of landscape. I love to paint clouds.

Here, the tamaracks are turning yellow but haven't lost their leaves yet... my grandmother always would say that when the tamarack trees lost their leaves, the snow would fly... and it always held true.

Do you have tamaracks where you live?

Tamaracks are more northern trees. I live in the northwest and tamaracks are one of the more prized trees to have in this area, along with cedar.

That was very interesting! Thanks for sharing.... I didn't realize the bark of tamaracks had healing properties. I know that we love to burn tamarack wood, it is a great firewood, although hard to find. No one wants to cut down a tamarack unless it is dead, and dead ones are hard to find, as they are a very hardy tree.

So, I'm keeping an eye on the tamaracks to see when the needles are completely off, which will probably be in another week or two... and usually about that time is when we will see the first snow that sticks...
