I trust and hope your right. I'm afraid they may consider condemning homosexuality may be considered a hate crime.

Re: Jail/Homosexuality

I imagine what will happen is that churches will be faced with loss of thier 501c3 status if they continue on using what will be labeled "hate speech" in preacing against homosexulaity.

So then we will see what is REALLY most important to many churches and Pastors: The money and taxes or preaching the book against sin.

Re: Jail/Homosexuality

I believe we should continue teaching that homosexuality is a sexual sin. However, the hate and rancor should end. We should treat a homosexual like any other lost soul. And we should treat those struggling with this sin as we do couples who are unmarried, those who are remarried unlawfully, and adulterers.

Re: Jail/Homosexuality

Well said Aquila. Hate sin... But love the sinner. Whether a sexual sin or not... we all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God and needed someone to love us but hate our sin enough to help us find forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. This is what I preach to the small Home Missions church that God has lead me to Pastor.

Re: Jail/Homosexuality

The way I see it... if sinners can't depend on Christians to be civil citizens who truly care about them and their struggles... who can they trust?

Re: Jail/Homosexuality

Sadly, Christians seem to sometimes have so much trouble being "Civil" to one another that caring about the lost and their struggles gets pushed too far down the "prioity ladder".

My wife and I are learning in the small church that we Pastor that the best way to reach the lost is to show them so much love that they come back to church because they feel OUR love for them. I personally believe that it is nearly impossible to Disciple folks (for Christ) without first convincing them, through our actions, that we truly love and care about them.

For God so loved the World that He GAVE... How much of ourselves are we willing to give to show that we love the lost and hurting? Just askin'....

Re: Jail/Homosexuality

One final thought... sometimes "giving" goes beyond our finances. What if God is asking us to "Give" a bit when it comes to the attitude that we show to those whom we (notice that I said "we") consider the rankest of sinners? God help us to love like Jesus loved. It is the only way that we are going to make an impact for His Kingdom on this earth.

Thanks for letting me air this opinion.
