Re: Sunday School Lesson Ideas
For those teaching all ages under 18: I teach mine Bible verses by saying them repetiously. It might not be the whole verse but the most important part. Some who have been in my class for a longer period of time know more than the others. I will start them off with the first 2 words. The kids from 8-12 really get excited about learning. We bus in these kids so they don't have the support from Christain parents. Right now they know probably over 50 verses, 10 commandments and some know the books of the Bible. Right now they are learning "I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth. I have a couple of 4 yr olds and also some 6 and 7 yr. olds, and those 4 yr olds will skip a few words occasionally but I reward them all with candy. They really like "Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against God." Needless to say, I am very proud of them. I know their home life. Most have no father figure in their homes and if they do, Mom is usually not married to him. When I teach them their lesson (Bible story), then the following week I review it with them and ask questions and then most of the time, I review it again with questions and candy. I want them to know the lesson, so I don't go onto something else untill I am sure they know the current one. HOpe some of these ideas might help as I have read the above suggestions and will use them more often than in the past.
