Our service lasted until about 10:30 we went to the fellowship hall and had gumbo and the young folks had pizza. We have a large gym and the young people played games and visited. You better believe they were screaming Happy New year. It was nearly 1 when I left and they were still going strong. Too much for us old folks but I think they stayed until about 3. O to be young a again BUT not with this aged body.

We had an amazing service. It was great to have these churches come together for fellowship, I always like it better when multiple churches come together for the Watch Night Service... it makes it so much better and really helps build fellowship.
To the posters earlier talking about it being boring in their youth, maybe it was just the order of service you had... cause the youth were the most excited there Monday night. The teenagers and college age outnumbered the adults 2 to 1, and they took the majority of the service with music, drama, sign teams etc.... they had practiced and were so annointed. And they were the ones the really responded to the message the most.
As a matter of fact, we broke about 10pm for a break and refreshments, and as the adults were sitting around visiting, it was the teen agers saying, hey, let's get back to the sanctuary and start again....
To the person that asked about foot washing, our fellowship of churches absolutely do observe the Lord's Supper and foot washing as ordinances of the church, but we only do that the week of Easter, not at New Years.
But it was a mighty, mighty wonderful move of God. Two reported being delivered, and 3 filled with the Holy Ghost..... and we dismissed about 12:40am.
On second thought I do "watch night services" sometimes. Every once in awhile I watch the Sunday night service that is webcast from POA.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
Quote from Ethel Goss (widow of 1st UPC Gen Supt. Howard Goss) book "The Winds of God"
We had service. 5 baptized in Jesus name that night. 1 filled with the Holy Ghost. The word was awesome. Each minister had three minutes each to preach a small message. God surely blessed.
